Role purpose The General Manager of Buffalo Tours will be responsible to set the direction and strategy and manage the daily operations of an inbound tour operator and destination management company with operations in Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos. Buffalo Tours specializes in innovative travel, offering customized travel and tour packages, with adventure and high-end travel options for business and leisure customers. Established in 1994, Buffalo Tours has grown to over 200 employees, as well as sales representative offices in Australia, UK, and US. In addition to being a leading inbound tour operator, Buffalo Tours has formed strong, global relationships to become a leading destination management company in the region. Buffalo Tours is part of the Thien Minh Group, which includes other tourism companies such as Cholontourist, Intrepid Indochina and hotel and transport properties. The General Manager of Buffalo Tours will report directly to the CEO of Thien Minh.
Duties Accountabilities Develop company strategy (objectives, budget and KPI) and oversee its implementation
Manage all departments to meet pre-agreed objectives Set the strategy and priorities for marketing, sales, and product development to meet sales targets
Ensure a consistent operation (quality of trips based on ISO requirements, client feedback and service level agreements) Effective use and development of human resources
Key Performance Indicators - Yearly plan to be approved by CEO and Board of Directors - Quarterly performance reporting to the Board of Directors - Monthly performance reporting to the CEO - Meeting objectives/KPIs approved by Board - Ongoing review and supervision of functional managers - # of new clients and revenues achieved - Top 3 position (in terms of market share and product ratings) - Join trade fairs, sales calls and key client negotiations as needed - Feedback level: target rating - Set and take corrective actions if necessary - Ensure consistency throughout destinations - Performance of managers (ratings based on yearly

Education: University degree required, with focus in tourism or management preferred. Master or MBA degree is a plus, but not required. Experience: 5 years in a senior management role in either hospitality or tourism Characteristics: Leadership skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills Language: Fluency in English required. European (French, German, Spanish) or Vietnamese languages are a plus. Regional experience: Working experience in Asia and/or considerable travel experience in South East Asia is preferred.
