Luang Prabang - Ban Long Lao Luang Prabang

Vientiane Extension Extend your experience with a stay in the sleepy capital of Laos. Enjoy a guided tour of the most important historic and cultural sites in the capital. Besides visiting the main sights you are sure to appreciate the languid atmosphere and the faded colonial architecture of this quiet city.

Today, you will cycle out of Luang Prabang for approximately 20 kilometres to the settlement of Ban Thin Som. There, you will begin a trek through the stunning countryside to visit a village populated by the Kamu ethnic group. After lunch, hike through the forested mountains and marvel at the spectacular views. At the village of Ban Long Lao, you will be able to gain an insight into everyday life in the village with a guided tour. Enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by your hosts. The following day, breakfast will be served at the village headman’s house. Following this you will have some free time to further explore the village. Later in the morning begin trekking to stunning Kuang Si Falls. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the cool pools at its base. After a tasty lunch at the falls you may wish to visit the nearby Sun Bear rescue centre. In the late afternoon drive back to Luang Prabang and dine out in one of the town’s fine restaurants. The last day is at leisure until you are transferred to the airport for your onward flight.

SUMMARY Culturally Laos has so much to offer. This six-day culinary and cultural experience combines artisanal pursuits, a cooking class and light treks. You will also have the chance to experience an ethnic minority homestay and experience a way of life that has changed little over the years.
