Day 1-4

LUANG PRABANG XIENG KHOANG PLAIN OF JARS VANG VIENG VIENTIANE PAKSE 4000 ISLANDS

Enjoy a guided tour of Luang Prabang’s highlights. On Day 2, enjoy a cruise down the Mekong River to visit the sacred Pak Ou Caves and the many Buddha images. Continue on to the village of Ban Xang Khong where you can observe traditional Lao textiles being woven on ancient wooden looms. The next day, rise early to observe the traditional Buddhist rite of almsgiving. Later in the day, drive to beautiful Kuang Si Falls and enjoy a swim in the refreshing waters. On Day 4, drive to the mountainous plateau of Xieng Khouang.

Xieng Khouang – Plain of Jars - Xieng Khouang - Vang Vieng Vientiane

Explore the Plain of Jars, one of the most mysterious sites in the country. Visit the Old Town and the Stupa and temple at Muang Khoun. On Day 6, travel along picturesque winding roads to Vang Vieng. The afternoon is free for you to relax on the banks of the Song River or explore this sleepy town. The following day, try your hand at kayaking or caving near the town. The next day, depart for the capital, Vientiane. Enjoy a guided tour of the main sights, including famous Wat Sisaket, with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues.

Day 9-12

Vientiane – Pakse – 4000 Islands - Pakse

Fly to Pakse in the south of the country, before embarking on a hike up to the Bolaven Plateau. Later, enjoy a guided tour of Pakse and the chance to explore this charming town. Next, drive south to the famous temple complex of Wat Phou. Continue on to an elephant camp to see how mahouts handle these gracious animals before continuing on to 4000 Islands region. The next day, explore deeper into a stretch of the Mekong River that boasts thousands of tiny islands. Enjoy a cruise to the largest waterfalls in Asia, Khone Pha Peng and Li Phi Falls. If you are lucky enough, you may spot some of the Irrawaddy (freshwater) dolphins that make the area their home.

Luang Prabang Extension Enjoy a stay in this cultural gem and its wealth of sightseeing options. Learn more about the history of the town with a guided city tour of the main sights.
