Enjoy a guided city tour of Hanoi and explore the narrow, ancient streets of the Old Quarter in a traditional cyclo. The following day, you will depart the capital by vehicle before cycling to the stunning valley of Mai Chau, where you will spend the night. The next day’s cycling is more challenging as you climb high mountain passes and descend into picturesque valleys.

Mai Chau - Son La - Dien Bien Phu - Lai Chau - Sapa
Continue on to the settlement of Son La, which is notable for its colourful ethnic minorities, terraced rice fields and tea plantations. The next day’s cycle from Son La to Dien Bien Phu is truly breathtaking as you ascend and descend high passes. Your onward journey to Sapa will take you through bustling ethnic minority markets and beautiful mountain scenery.
Sapa - Hanoi
On Day 8, depart Sapa and trek to the Black Hmong village of Lao Chai, before taking a jeep transfer and trekking downhill to the village of Thanh Phu. There you will be hosted for the night by a family from the Tay ethnic group. Next, trek through an area populated by the Xa Pho ethnic group, the smallest ethnic group in the region. Continue trekking to Nam Ken Village, where you will spend the night as guests of the Red Dao ethnic group. The next day trek to Su Pan, before transferring to Lao Cai for the overnight train to Hanoi.

On Day 11, transfer from Hanoi to Halong Bay and spend the next two days cruising the emerald waters of the UNESCO World Heritage listed bay. Over the next two days you are sure to enjoy swimming in the emerald green waters, kayaking through secluded lagoons and exploring cavernous grottoes. At the end of this memorable experience you will be transferred back to Hanoi.
