The “B.U. Droit-Lettres” is the main library of the two Universities Stendhal and Pierre-Mendès-France. It provides documentation in Law, Social Sciences, Literature, Economics and Humanities.

Group study rooms

How to register ?

33 study rooms are available in the library for small groups from 2 to 8 people. They have to be booked at the reading room desks.

Registration is free for students and all members of Grenoble universities.

Photocopying and printing services

Your student card is also your library card, you just have to activate it at “accueil”, on the ground floor

Self-service photocopiers are located in each reading room. They operate with a card which can be purchased at the card dispenser on the ground floor. You can use the same card to print from library computers (including USB ports). Printing stations are located on the ground, first and third floors.

Security

Does the library have it ? Use the “Odyssée” catalogue to search for books and other items in the main library and departement libraries of Stendhal and Pierre-Mendès-France universities.

Please look after your valuables. Don’t leave laptops or personal items unattended. Use the lockers on the ground floor.

Finding and using e-documentation

How to borrow ? Recent literature can be found in the reading rooms, older books and periodicals must be ordered from the stack.

Use one of the 70 computers to find books and articles (references and full text) in databases, to prepare papers and presentations with Open Office and to access the internet. Login and password are required.

Material not available at the university library may be obtained from other French or foreign libraries. This service is not free.

It is your responsibility to ensure that all items are returned in time. If they are overdue your borrowing privileges will be suspended, temporarily. Use the self-service machine at the entrance of the library.
