Budemeadows Touring Park

The place to stay near Widemouth Bay

www.budemeadows.com

A warm welcome Budemeadows is a friendly family run site for touring caravans, tents and motorhomes. Close to the beaches of Bude and Widemouth Bay you can quickly access the rest of Cornwall and the key attractions of North Devon. In the summer our heated pool is great for the kids and Grumpy Pete’s Bar offers refreshment for all. The Pool, Bar and Shop are open late May to the end of August but the site is open all year round. The absence of the Summer crowds makes Autumn and Winter quiet times, providing a great chance to explore the local area. Many of our guests are regular visitors and in 2015 almost half were either returning to us or had been recommended by friends. We even have a number of parents who came as children and now bring their own families. We camped both as children and parents, and we try to run the site as we’d like to find it. Clean, tidy and litter free with particular attention to the toilets and showers. Our WiFi is available site wide, with free access in the bar. Simple pleasures, the pool and playground with swings, slides and a great zip wire; but no money trap machines or neon lit amusement arcades. Budemeadows Touring Park, Bude, Cornwall. Our Pitches We have 145 pitches, most of which have electric hook-up available. Our pitches are either all grass or hardstanding. The hardstanding pitches are tarmac, or tarmac & gravel, with grass alongside. Our popular Premier pitches are either all grass or gravel hardstanding with grass alongside and benefit from water and grey waste drainage on the pitch. We offer seasonal pitches and rallies are welcome in Low and Mid Seasons.

Grumpy Pete’s Bar & Shop (open late May through August) Grumpy Pete’s is a quiet refuge from the heat of the sun or, occasionally, shelter from the storm. A bar for the family with draft and bottled local ales and cider, freshly ground coffee or one of our speciality hot chocolates. Often you’ll find home baked cakes or muffins to go with your tea or coffee. We provide free Wifi in the bar, there are traditional bar games available and a selection of board games; the Monopoly and Scrabble sets get a lot of use. The site shop is small, but well stocked, with essential groceries and camping essentials. During the summer High Season we get up early to prepare freshly baked croissants and bread; there’s often a queue when we open to get them still warm. from the oven.

Explore the Coast The coastline North of Bude and South of Widemouth Bay is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are numerous short walks to be done and the more adventurous often catch a bus to Boscastle or Crackington Haven and walk back to the campsite.

Enjoy Unspoilt Bude Bude remains a comparatively quiet seaside town, set on it’s historic canal and the river Neet. There are no loud amusement parks and the main attractions remain the beaches and the outstanding beauty of the surrounding coast and countryside. The main shopping area is comprised mainly of small independent stores with supermarkets located nearby. For those in search of more active thrills the A39 ‘Atlantic Highway’ puts you in easy reach of the key attractions of both Cornwall and North Devon.

Catch a Wave

All the local beaches attract surfers year round and the main beaches in Bude, at Widemouth Bay, Northcott Mouth and Sandymouth are patrolled by RNLI lifeguards during the summer months.

As well as surf there is plenty of room for swimming, rock pooling, building a sandcastle or just lay back and relax.

Our pool is open late May to the end of August and we keep it nice and warm

Watch the Sun go Down There’s nothing between Bude and the other side of the Atlantic so it’s a great spot to watch the sun slowly slip beneath the horizon

Beach........

There are so many local beaches to choose from you could visit a different one each day. From the wide expanse of Widemouth and the sheltered Summerleaze in Bude to the quiet coves like Millook,

North Cornwall has a beach for everyone.

The South beach at Widemouth and Summerleaze in Bude are dog friendly all year round. As a general rule dog restrictions apply to every other beach in the area. In the summer.

........Or Pool? Although the sea is relatively warm we keep the pool at around 28 degrees so it’s always great to get in whatever the weather is up to. There are sun loungers all around and if the constant sunshine gets too much for you the bar is close at hand.

There are Stars Whilst we don’t have a dark skies rating, if you come from a builtup area you will notice that there are a lot more lights up in the sky.

Touring Caravan Hire

We now have a touring caravan available for hire on site. If you’ve ever wanted to try out the caravanning style, or if you want to holiday with friends or relations that are less keen on a few nights under canvas, then this could be for you. The caravan is fully equipped and hire charges include pitch fees, gas and electricity. Available for weekly hire all year or for mid-week/weekend breaks in mid and low season. Our caravan also provides a warm alternative for the less temperate times of the year; when you’d like to get away, but don’t want to use the tent. Prices and further details are available on our website or give us a ring and we’ll be pleased to answer any questions.

How to Find Budemeadows We are 3 miles South of Bude, just off the A39 Atlantic Highway. There are 3 main routes in from the East but we recommend the, slightly longer, M5, A30, A39 route, particularly if you are towing. Full details of all routes can be found on our website. We reckon on the journey from Exeter being around an hour, slightly more with a caravan behind, traffic and tractors permitting.
