Welcome to the 30th annual Bucks Open Studios. You will find details in this directory of over 500 talented artists and makers who are displaying their work, demonstrating their skills and welcoming you to their homes, studios and exhibitions in 200 different venues. The map inside the back cover will help you find the venues you want to visit. The Fanfare Exhibitions, running for about a month at the County Museum in Aylesbury and Milton Keynes Central Library, will showcase work from many of the artists participating in Bucks Open Studios. Ann & Bob Marshall, joint chair of VIG, organisers of BOS Last year’s visitors said:

Potter & printmaker. Exhibition of highfired stoneware, etchings, screen prints and collagraphs, using lettering on commemorative ceramics. Holes Lane is at the north end of Olney, between the High Street and East Street, on the right coming from Milton Keynes.

See my mixed media paintings, sculptures and cards inspired by the sea. Find The House Gallery at the end of Rose Court, just off the Market Square.

The exhibition will include a lovely mix of wood, textiles, drawings and prints. The museum is a large brick building in the market place, two doors to the left of Costa coffee. Free parking is opposite in the market square.

Handcrafted items using turning, texturing and colour to enhance the natural beauty of wood. Original coloured and tactile paintings on glass. Live demonstrations throughout the event. Situated just outside Weston Underwood on the road to Olney.

Inspired by wildlife and nature, my paintings find the interesting, quirky side of all things wild and unwild in acrylic, watercolour, pastel and mixed media. Emberton is a small village, so please park considerately.

I work in porcelain and stoneware. Most of the work is wheel thrown. I am interested in form and colour and I like to explore different ideas so the work is quite varied.

Oils, watercolours and etchings of wildlife and landscape are on display in the artist’s studio. Quainton Cottage is opposite the playground on Upper Street which runs across the top of the green and out to the west.

Hand-thrown functional and decorative stoneware and porcelain glazed in attractive blues, greens, tenmoku and turquoise. Wax resist and coloured slips are used for surface decoration. All pots are suitable for the oven, dishwasher and microwave. Commissions are welcome. Courses are available.

The studio/workshop is on the B489 a mile before Ivinghoe travelling from Marsworth. See individual pieces of silver jewellery being made using textured silver, kiln-fired enamel, gold and stones – many pieces are commissioned. John’s photographs will be on display.

In my solar etching print studio you will see all stages of the process from exposure of the plates through to running the finished prints through the etching press. My images are inspired by the world of nature around me.

I will be painting for the whole of the five days. Workshops and an auction will be held to raise funds for ancient trees on the estate. Also open on Monday 22nd June.

Sculpture, drawings and painting in mixed media. Situated in centre of village in layby behind the bus stop on A4010 main road from Aylesbury to High Wycombe. The Old Smithy is on the corner off Burton Lane.

Contemporary artisan glass jewellery displayed in a lovely garden setting. I create my pieces using the techniques of forming glass as practiced by the Venetians using a gas torch. Stopps Orchard is first right off Dunsmore Avenue which is off Wellington Avenue.

A diverse exhibition of contemporary garden sculpture, unusual naturalistic ceramic forms and colourful paintings all displayed in a pretty garden. A4010 to Monks Risborough, turn down Mill Lane past St. Dunstan’s Church, third left into Place Farm Way (before bridge).

Handcrafted jewellery by David Weinberger, using traditional techniques and the latest technology. Some vibrant and inspirational work produced by patients in the creative arts groups at the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Collections include mosaic, pottery, watercolour and acrylic paintings, colourful abstract images and mixed media crafts.

Vibrant harbours and colourful beachscapes produced in slip decorated earthenware. Peter’s inspiration comes from hidden coves and small fishing communities around the south west coastline. Demonstrating at the gallery during Open Studios.

Rachel’s exquisite embroideries are inspired by landscapes, nature and the sea. Her hand and machine-embroidered pieces are collages of intricately worked vibrant threads and beautiful fabrics and papers. Carefully chosen iridescent fabrics capture light and bring the work to life.

Rebecca’s paintings and drawings in oil, charcoal and pastel, depict places, flowers, still-life, integrated with collage and text. Directions: on arriving in Wendover High Street you will find the gallery in The Barn Courtyard, next to Antiques at Wendover and directly opposite Budgens.

Roger specialises in fine art photography using traditional darkroom techniques, producing colour and monochrome prints. Carol and Richard work in clay, both raku and stoneware fired, creating sculptural and domestic ceramics. Raku and throwing demonstrations, weather permitting.

This is a retrospective collection of prints and ceramics reflecting a wide interest in many creative contexts over the years.

Orchard Studios will be exhibiting mixed media, a wide variety of ceramics along with prints, silver jewellery etc. Orchard Studios is situated off the Rignall Road when outward bound from Great Missenden.

I design and handcraft original and contemporary pieces of silver jewellery. I am exhibiting at The Orchards Studio with three other artists. The Orchards Studio is best approached from Rignall Road and is 2nd left off Broomfield Hill.

Bold, curvaceous ceramics, reflecting and melding sketchbook records of architecture, culture, colours and atmosphere across Europe and eastward. Sculptural work and sketches are greatly informed by everyday life and nature. Functional ware is both decorative and practical.

My work is based predominantly around British wildlife, however I am introducing florals into my collection. During this event I will be running painting and printing workshops so please look at my website for further details of how to book.

Working with materials such as wool, silk, cotton, wire, beads, and buttons, I hand knit unusual pieces of jewellery. I will be demonstrating some knitting techniques and showing a selection of curious creatures and a few luxury scarves.

Letter carving: traditional and experimental! In the studio exhibition pieces and memorials are designed and carved side by side with commercial commissions which include inscriptions for The National Gallery, The National Portrait Gallery and The Royal Opera House.

My beaded shell pendants, colourful cuffs, delicate necklaces, earrings, brooches and bracelets are all made by weaving tiny beads together with needles and thread. Find us opposite and just below The Rise, with ample parking behind Stanstead Place flats.

Enjoy browsing a diverse array of work by a group of friendly local artists exhibiting together in a beautiful garden location with fabulous views (although access is up many steep steps from the road). Complimentary refreshments.

I paint directly onto vintage maps and book pages creating original, unique artworks. I have used Buckinghamshire and its surrounds for my inspiration this year. Steep access to studio but the views are worth it, enjoy them with tea and cake.

My studio is located at my home close to High Wycombe town centre. I paint mostly in acrylics on large canvases but like to experiment with different media and techniques. I am happy to work on commissioned pieces.

Hand-built ceramics influenced by the English countryside and all things around us. I mainly burnish and scraffito my pots, and also use subtle natural glazes. In Mill End, turn off A4155 into Ferry Lane and follow signs.

Landscapes depicting the woodlands and countryside surrounding Marlow. Media used: sepia/watercolour acrylics and oils. From High Wycombe, top of Marlow Hill, Handycross Roundabout, take the turning off signposted for Marlow Bottom.

I specialise in custom made stained glass windows, fused glass decorative dishes and jewellery, alongside handmade angora and mohair scarves. I also have a range of photographic art pictures available for private viewings.

Contemporary and colourful fused glass pieces, inspired by the coast, natural landscapes and textiles. Exhibiting with Jane Vincent, Marilia Carvalho and Suzanne Raffellini. The Cemetery is off Fern Lane on A4155, between Marlow and Bourne End.

Mixed media and collage paintings, strong sensitive images abstracted from land and seascapes. In garden studio and home. 1.5 miles from A40 Holtspur on Broad Lane. Turn right in Berghers Hill, small private road. Blackberry House 3rd on left.

Hand-built clay vessels for food and drink. Techniques are pinch, slab-work and coiling. Glazes for brush painting and printing. Inspiration: ancient-history, horticulture and France. ‘Old Bakery Cottage’ behind St Pauls Church, 3rd house on the right before entering large car park.

Intriguing narrative landscapes made of layers of paint and stuff. From Hawks Hill turn left by thatched cottage. Up hill, take first left and Hunters Gate is first house on right.

Mostly new works in oil and acrylic, exploring different textures, mainly inspired by my love of water. From Hawks Hill, turn left by thatched cottage into Harvest Hill. First left, cream house on right. Set in unusual terraced garden.

I work in line wash illustration, usually architectural subjects. Often I integrate photography. I try to capture the complexity of an urban environment with acute observation. I love working in-situ in order to convey the energy and freshness of the environment.
