Angela has always loved books and brings her passion for reading into her work with schools. She has wide experience, having been a class teacher, senior leader and governor since 1996. Angela has taught Reception to year 6. As a governor, Angela served in specific roles, i.e. Literacy, SEN and Chairman – including appointment panels in a Church of England school setting. Angela has been particularly interested in learning and teaching, assessment for learning, and developing ways of using assessment to raise attainment. She was a deputy headteacher Angela‘s areas of expertise and interest include: (NPQH accredited and Post Graduate Language and  Every Child A Reader Literacy) and was a Leading English teacher,  Key Stage 1 Literacy difficulties Consultant Deputy and seconded as Acting Head for  Adult coaching and mentoring the L.A. She has mentored students, NQTs, teachers  Key Stage 1 & 2 writing and classroom support staff in both group and one to  Assessment for learning one settings. Angela trained at MA level at the Institute of Education, London, to be an accredited Reading Recovery Teacher Leader within the Every Child A Reader intervention. As well as addressing reading and writing difficulties, this programme raises children’s independence. For the past three years Angela has trained teachers in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Milton Keynes. She is also a Better Reading Partners trainer for teachers, non-teaching staff and dedicated volunteers.
