Women’s Cross Country Year-by-Year Results

Over the past 40 years, the Bison men’s cross country team has been Bucknell’s most successful program on the national level. The Bison won 18 straight conference titles between 1975-92, and have appeared as a team in the NCAA Championships in nine of the last 33 years. The Bison had one of the most impressive winning streaks in all of collegiate sports snapped in 1990, when Connecticut handed Bucknell a dual-meet defeat. That halted a string of 167 consecutive dual-meet victories spanning 16 seasons. Since that loss to the Huskies, the Bison have gone 93-6 in dual-meet competition.

Over the past 36 years, the Bison women’s cross country team has been one of Bucknell’s most successful programs. Bucknell’s women dominated their time in the East Coast Conference, winning the conference title in each of the eight years they participated in the league. After adjusting to the higher level of competition within the Patriot League, the Bison have come nearly full circle, from fifth place in 1991 to league champion in eight of the past 14 seasons. The women made their first-ever team appearance in the NCAAs in 2000, finishing 24th in the nation.
