BUD RANCK-TOM GADD DD D MEMORIAL KICKOFF CLASSIC More than 250 golfers returned to campus last July for the 14th Annual Bud Ranck-Tom k Gadd dd Memoriall Kickoff k Classic. l The premier hhighlight hl h of the h Bucknell k ll football program’s offseason, the event attracted a diverse mix of former Bison players and coaches, along with numerous fans and supporters of the program. The tournament was founded by the late Bucknell head football coach Tom Gadd, and it has developed into a fun annual event. The weekend also includes a Sunday night dinner that features a season preview from the coaching staff along with a raffle and silent auction. In the tournament’s second year, Gadd named the event after good friend Bud Ranck, who had died earlier that year. To memorialize Gadd after his passing in March 2003, the Ranck family announced at the Sunday evening dinner that the tournament will now bear the names of both Bud Ranck and Tom Gadd. Another highlight of the Sunday dinner is the announcement of the Bud Ranck-Tom Gadd Award winner, which honors annually an outstanding supporter of the Bucknell football program. The 2009 winner was Doug Williams, a 1963 graduate of Bucknell who is a former chair of the Bison Club Board of Directors.
