Welcome to our new Summer 2023 brochure. As spring surges upon us, we are reminded of the words of Aristotle, who quipped, “It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.” So, we will embrace the light of the forthcoming spring. As such, the BTPD offers various events and programs to enhance recreational and educational opportunities for our district’s patrons.
Concurrently, while patrons will undoubtedly enjoy the new Ninja Challenge course, they can take advantage of the energizing prairie walking or biking trails to the historic Indian Caves that empty into the Kankakee River at Perry Farm Park.
The spring brings a fresh new look to the park district, and this brochure has many new experiences for young and old. Travel with us this summer! Take in a ball game at Wrigley Field or Guaranteed Rate Field. Shop at Shipshewana and explore Starved Rock. We have many fun trips for everyone.
On Page 8, we have new programs for the preschool age, like Tumble Tot Camp and Little Yogis Camp. Join our instructors as they teach the basics of tumbling, stretching, and much more.
We are pleased to offer some new Athletic programs, which can be found on Page 22. Have you ever wanted to get out and play some disc golf with no judgment? Join us on Wednesday nights this summer to learn how to play.
In addition, enjoy our summer concert series at Perry Farm Park, where we showcase area’s entertainment. Furthermore, please visit our animals at Perry Farm while enjoying our spring and summer activities. They are always excited for the attention and the occasional snack from our animal vending-feeding machines.
