To the Bourbonnais Township Park District Community, We are excited to embark on a fun-filled season at the Bourbonnais Township Park District (BTPD). It is my distinct pleasure to serve as the newly appointed Executive Director of the BTPD. We have come through challenging times with the advent of COVID-19 and dealing with rampant inflation that impacts disposable income. However, in light of forgoing, we are committed here at the BTPD and, more importantly, as government stewards, with the obligation to provide for our residents’ health, safety, and welfare of our parks and facilities. Our vision is to “Make a difference and pursue excellence in everything we do,” and our staff is busy fall planning with this vision in mind. We look forward to celebrating this fall with some unique and new events! We will commemorate Sleepy Hollow 30th Year Anniversary! We are excited to partner with Kankakee Valley Theatre Association to bring alive Ichabod Crane in October. We are expanding partnerships with Community Art Council to make our events a fun day in the park on September 24 for Scarecrow Festival and Fall Art Stroll. We are adding on new events like Blues and Brews on September 29. We have several new programs for all ages, including PJ’s with Buddy the Elf; Boil Toil Trouble & Tea; and Guys Night Out! Our parks continue to see many individuals and groups visiting and enjoying spending time outdoors, whether walking

the trails, playing at Barnyard playground, or visiting our farm animals like our pig Bobo. There is something for all when visiting our parks. No matter your favorite activities, we encourage you to go out often this fall and enjoy the wonderful parks and programs that strong community support has helped make possible. You will find that our new fall brochure has something for everyone. We sincerely hope you take advantage of our parks, facilities, and wide range of programs, which will rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul. As Karolkina Kurkova stated, “Simply enjoy life and the great pleasures that come with it.” We genuinely desire that you can enjoy the great opportunities our parks, facilities, and programs offer.
