Dear Bourbonnais Township Park District Residents: It has been a busy season at the Bourbonnais Township Park District! Continuous work has been underway to improve and upgrade our facilities. Ongoing renovation allows us to achieve our mission of enriching the quality of OLIHIRURXUFRPPXQLW\7KHELJJHVWDGGLWLRQKDVEHHQWKH%DUQ\DUG3OD\JURXQGDW3HUU\)DUP3DUNZKLFKRI¿FLDOO\ opened in late spring. We have had an overwhelmingly positive response from the community. The poured surface on the playground makes the site accessible for all ability levels. The program promotes an environment that fosters critical thinking, problem solving skills, and social development taught through alphabet and thematic units. The experiences are both educational and recreational, which aid in social, physical, intellectual and emotional programs. Illinois Early Learning Standards are applied to curriculum lessons. Sign up early, classes are limited to allow for a low student-teacher ratio. Children enrolled in park district programs must be potty independent unless it's a parent/child class or otherwise stated. Car Show and Drive Inn Movie...Tyke Style (Ages 2 - 6) In partnership with the Village of Bourbonnais, we are co-hosting a new family fun evening at the Children’s Safety Center! Bring your cozy coupe, motorized jeep or custom-made car kit and head on over for our very first Car Show: Tyke Style. We will start our evening with a parade of vehicles, followed by our car show and award handouts. We will end our evening in our beauties settling back to munch on popcorn and watch a movie. Your child is about to get messy. Participants will get to explore creating a masterpiece with their fingers and hands. IN-BETWEEN PRESCHOOL (Ages 3 - 5) This class is designed for morning and/or afternoon preschoolers looking for additional activities. Circle time, projects, centers and motor skills are found here. Lunch time is held during our time together. Please bring a sack lunch. This program can be used alone or can be added to other preschool classes at local schools or BTPD Preschool. Ask us about transportation to area schools. There is a Transportation fee of $2/day. Please feel free to send a breakfast or we can provide one for $1.00. We will be sure to get your child to school on time.

The after preschool program gives your child an eventful afternoon including music, art, games and more. A snack may be included and outside time weather permitting. Wind down after a full day or just visit while mom or dad are at work. We have locations at local school - St. George, Shabbona for Alan Shepard students, the Recreation Station for Bradley students or those staying from BTPD Preschool programs.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: • All participants receive a jersey and a basketball! • Volunteer coaches are needed for each team. Contact Kourtnee Thompson at Kourtneet@btpd.org if you have any interest in helping coach. • Practice and Game times will be based on gym availability and coaches’ schedules. • Early Bird Deadline: Friday, November 1.

K-1st Grade League Emphasis in this league is put on introducing and getting players comfortable with the game of basketball and creating an enjoyment of the sport. Players will work on developing fundamental skills and playing in their first 5 v 5 basketball games. A youth size basketball is used. Teams are formed by random draw and will have at least two practices before their first game. Equal playing time is highly stressed in this league.

2nd-3rd Grade League We urge our coaches to rotate players through all of the positions so players have a chance to learn each separately during our scheduled practices. Scores are kept during games so participants experience more of a real game feel. A 28.5 size basketball is used and all practices and games are played on 8 feet rims. Teams are formed by random draw and equal playing time is highly stressed.

4th-5th Grade League Basket heights are set at 10 feet and a 28.5 size basketball is used in this league. Teams are formed by a random draw and equal playing time is highly stressed. Just like swimming, our aqua aerobics classes are easy on your joints, yet challenging enough to help you reach new levels of fitness. Because of their low-impact format, water aerobics classes are suitable for every age and fitness level. Participants may bring and use their own water shoes if desired.
