MAY - AUGUST 2017

Executive Director’s Letter Dear Bourbonnais Township Park District Residents: A new season at the park district will bring exciting additions to Willowhaven Park & Nature Center. Construction will begin on the previously announced dog park, amphitheatre, disc golf course, outdoor fitness equipment and picnic shelter. We will keep you updated on our progress. We are currently hard at work on a strategic five year plan. We have been meeting with community members in newly formed focus groups to determine our future direction. We strive to meet the needs of our community in every stage of life – from preschool age all the way to seniors. We are also developing an annual report outlining activities and initiatives accomplished in the past year. To continue to be transparent to our patrons, you may peruse our financial data and annual audit on our website at any time – www.btpd.org. The spring and summer is full of great family friendly events at the park district – from Dog Day Afternoon, Art in the Park, Family Night Out, Summer Concert Series to many different summer camps and exciting trips! We are also thrilled to host the Acting Out Theatre Co. production of Beauty and the Beast at Perry Farm Park in our fairy tale woods on July 21, 22, 23. Join us this summer! Take a hike at Perry Farm, bird watch at Willowhaven Park and Nature Center, or take in a ballgame at Diamond Point Park. Just get outside and enjoy the great outdoors! As always, don’t hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns – Hollice@btpd.org. Hollice Clark III, Executive Director
