Highland Pony Enthusiasts Club Newsletter Autumn 2019 Swansong At the beginning of 2017 I agreed to take on the editing of the newsletter and Highland Times for a period of three years. It has been an interesting and rewarding experience and I have generally been pleased with the publications I have created, although they represent a lot of hard work from myself and others. It has often been the product of me bullying club members into writing articles and I thank them all for their contributions. However this is the last newsletter I will be editing (although I still have Highland Times Review 2019 to complete) and the baton will be moving onto another‌.. hopefully Michelle Parkin Vaughan. So, I thank you all for reading the newsletter and wish Michelle well when she takes on the role.

Planning your summer One of the highlights of the HPEC calendar is the Summer Camp organised and run by the NE Group of the HPEC along with their local Fell Pony friends. This event will be from 1st 3rd May in Northumberland which might sound some distance in the future, but Chris Grant will be taking bookings in January. Congratulations Liz Well done to our Vice-chairman Liz Mangham who took the highest accolade for young highland ponies in England and Wales in 2019 as she not only qualified for the HPS Youngstock Championship, but also went on to win the finals which were held at the Rare Breeds Show at Arena UK in October with her
