BTCEB Bicycle Trails Council of the East Bay

BTCEB The Bicycle Trails Council of the East Bay is a non-proďŹ t educational club whose mission is to create, enhance and preserve great trail experiences for mountain bikers throughout the East Bay. Since 1987, BTCEB has been bringing out the best in mountain biking by encouraging low-impact riding, volunteer trail work participation, cooperation among different trail user groups, grassroots advocacy and innovative trail management solutions. If you love mountain biking and care about local access, you belong with BTCEB.

Group Rides Meet riders your speed. We have group rides, from beginner to epic, all over the Bay Area. Our monthly Gala ride is a nodrop, fun ride and includes all levels, both men and women.

Youth Mountain Bike Adventures At YMBA we take a group of underserved youth on what is sometimes their ďŹ rst visit to an East Bay park. YMBA provides and maintains the bikes to teach the basics of mountain biking. We also provide a healthy lunch, and give the kids a helmet and a tshirt to take home, along with a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

Trail Work Trail work is fun, rewarding, a great workout, and helps assure continuing trail access for our sport. Local land managers appreciate reliable, competent volunteers. BTCEB members have volunteered thousands of hours to build new trails and improve existing ones.

High School Mt Bike Racing BTCEB supports the NorCal High School MTB League throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Our sponsorship and member guidance help build the trail stewards of tomorrow.

Advocacy BTCEB is dedicated to preserving and expanding trails for mountain biking. From local parks to state government - we are active with programs that educate trail builders, promote responsible riding, and advocate for increased trail access.

Oakland Bike Patrol The BTCEB/OBP is part of IMBA's National Mountain Bike Patrol program. The Patrol consists of volunteers partnering with land managers and Oakland Police to serve our community, meet new people, ride great trails, and keep the singletrack open.
