The Series Michigan Tech is 17-7 (.708) all-time against Southwest Minnesota State. Tech has won of the last six meetings between the two schools. The Huskies are 17-36 (.320) all-time against Bemidji State and have won the last six games against the Beavers including a 101-88 win to open the season last year. Coach Luke Head coach Kevin Luke enters his 18th season as head coach of the Huskies. He is 301-191 all-time at Michigan Tech. Luke is a four-time GLIAC Coach of the Year and was the 2002-03 NABC National Coach of the Year. Playing it Close Both of Tech’s losses this season have come by one point. The Dynamic “H” Duo Senior Mike Hojnacki and junior Ali Haidar each posted seasonhighs in rebounds against UW-Parkside Tuesday (Nov. 22) grabbing seven and six rebounds respectively.   Hojnacki also made a season-high three 3-pointers against UWP to finish with 11 points. He currently ranks tied for 22nd in career scoring with 1,024 points. (See page 3 for complete list) Armga Explosion Sophomore Austin Armga scored a game and season-high 17 points against UWP. He ranks third on the team with 12.3 points per game. Career Night Freshman Phil Romback played the best game of his career against Parkside posting career-highs in points (two), rebounds (five) and two).

Another Career Night Sophomore Jordan Reetz handed out a six assists against UWP, tying his career-high, and scored a season-high 10 points. The Fall Creek, Wis., native is averaging 7.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. Top Three The Huskies rank second in the GLIAC in assist-to-turnover margin (1.4) and third in 3-point shooting percentage (.429). Spread the Wealth Michigan Tech has four players averaging more than 10 points per game, Mike Hojnacki (14.3), Ali Haidar (13.0), Austin Armga (12.3) and Alex Culy (11.7). Last Time Out Colt Grandstaff made a 3-pointer, his only basket of the game, as time expired to lift UW-Parkside to a 73-72 win over Michigan Tech Tuesday (Nov. 22). The Huskies had four players score in double figures including Austin Armga who finished with a game-high 17. Looking Ahead Michigan Tech will host Northern Michigan Saturday (Dec. 3) to open conference play.
