Bemidji State Hockey Game 22 - Bemidji State at (10) Nebraska Omaha Quest Center Omaha • Omaha, Neb. • January 15, 2011 • 7:07 p.m.

Current Record

Bemidji State notables: uBemidji State and Nebraska Omaha played to a 2-2 tie in the series opener last night. The deadlock makes BSU unbeaten in seven of its last ten outings (6-3-1).

Overall WCHA Home Away Neutral

uAfter dropping its first seven Friday evening contests of 2010-11, Bemidji State 3-0-1 in its last four series openers. BSU is now 3-7-1 on Fridays, 4-9-2 in conference play and 8-11-2 overall.

2010-11 Schedule

uLast night’s tie marks BSU’s first since a 1-1 deadlock versus Minnesota Duluth Oct. 30. uThe Beavers are now 2-6-1 as the visitors this season and, including a pair of neutral-site victories, are unbeaten in four of their last five contests away from the Sanford Center. uIn 2010-11 the Beavers have already played 10 games against team holding down a spot in the nation’s top 15 and three of the top four teams according to USAToday and USA Hockey Magazine and is 3-5-2 versus the nation’s top 15 this season. Since the Beavers made the jump to the NCAA Division I ranks for the 1999-2000 campaign, BSU is 10-42-1 (.209) versus teams in the top-15. With that said, BSU is now 8-7-2 versus the top 15 since the beginning of the 2008-09 campaign. uAfter opening the season without a win in their first five games (0-4-1), the Beavers have won seven of their last 10 contests and have out scored their opponents 25-16 since Nov. 27. uThree seems to be a magical thresh hold for BSU opponents in 2010-11. BSU is 0-9-0 when its opponents have scored three or more goals in a game. BSU is 8-1-2 when holding its opponents to two or fewer goals this season. uTwenty-two of BSU’s 26 skaters have netted at least a point this season. Rookies Jeff Jubinville, Anton Racklin and Garrett Ladd along with sophomore Matt Hartmann are all still in search of their first collegiate points. uThe BSU power-play has struggled to get on track in the second half of 2010-11. In the first five games back from break, the Beavers have just one goal on the man advantage (1-for-11) and are clicking at just nine percent. Bemidji State’s opponents have converted 25 percent of their chances and out scored BSU 5-1 on the power-play in those games (5-for-20). uBSU’s penalty-kill has allowed one power-play goal in five UNO chances last night. The unit has snuffed out 79-of-99 opponent man advantage opportunities this season (.798). uMatt Read will make his 131 consecutive appearance for the Beavers tonight. Read has not missed a game since he stepped on campus at BSU in the fall of 2007. He remains 12 games behind Matt Pope and John Haider for the BSU Division I-era record for games played (143). uWith a goal and an assist in last night’s contest, Ryan Cramer posted his first multi-point effort of 2010-11. In his career, he has recorded multi-point games on eight occasions and the Beavers a 6-1-1 in those games. uSophomore Aaron McLeod assisted on Cramer’s game-tying goal late in the second period last night and is up to 2-3=5 points in 19 games this season. He has now scored in all three games versus UNO this season (1-2=3) and has a point in each of the Beavers’ last three games. BSU is 8-2-1 when he nets a point during his career. uDan Bakala has two assists from the crease this season and remains just one behind Matt Dalton (2008-09) for the BSU single-season record. With three during his career, he’s two shy of matching Jim Scanlan (1978-82) for the career goalie assists mark. uIn his last nine starts, Dan Bakala has posted a 6-2-1 record with a pair of shutouts. During that stretch, he has a goals against average of 1.33 and has turned aside 240-of-252 shots for a .952 save percentage. In five of the nine games, Bakala has conceded one goal or less.
