FEATURED AGENTS WHO JOINED IN 1967 Bob Starodoj Bob Starodoj joined Mason & Morse with five years experience in the resort business. Bob or “Star” as we like to call him, was responsible for projects ranging from ranch sales to condominium development to the management of large parcels of land. Today Bob is the sole owner/CEO of Mason Morse.

Bob George Arriving in Aspen in 1952, Bob George was a long-time Aspen resident before starting at Mason & Morse. When Bob joined the office, he served as general manager. Bob George unexpectedly passed away in 2004.

NEWS IN ASPEN • Snowmass Ski Area, called Snowmass-at-Aspen opens with 5 chairlifts and 50 miles of trails. Lift tickets are $6.50 per day. • Snowmaking machines are introduced on the base of Aspen Mountain on Little Nell. • Record crowds end the year. Saturday, December 30th was the busiest day in history. An estimated 8,000 skiers were logged at the regions’ four major ski areas. • The “Chamber Rate” is introduced. Employees working for members of the Aspen Assn. and Chamber get a discounted ski pass. Over 400 employee ski tickets sold. A 20-day ticket is offered at $45 and includes skiing at Aspen and Buttermilk.

• The first Rolling Stone Magazine is published. • The first Super Bowl played between Green Bay Packers (win 35-10) and the Kansas City Chiefs. • Jimmy Hoffa begins an 8 year prison term for defrauding the union and jury tampering. • Muhammad Ali is stripped of his heavyweight title for refusing induction into US army • Nuclear Space Weapons Treaty is ratified by World Power. • Worlds First Heart Transplant operation in South Africa by Dr. Christiaan N Barnard. • The first North Sea gas is pumped ashore at Easington Co Durham. • The first ATM (Automatic Teller Machine) is put into service in Barclays Bank in London. • The first Boeing 737 takes its maiden flight. • The Concorde is seen for the first time in public. • Apollo 1 destroyed in a fire on the launch pad. • Pulsars are discovered.
