I Wish I Could Live The Fulltime RVing Life . . .
We hear these words every day when people learn that we live the fulltime RVing life . . . “I wish I could do it, too.” When you see an RV traveling down the open road, when you read about fulltime RVers who live a life of freedom, when you pass by RV dealerships gazing at the hundreds of RVs ready for adventure and fun . . . what do you say to yourself?
Do you say… “I wish I could live the fulltime RVing life?” “I’ll never be able to afford an RV?” “Only the lucky ones, the rich ones, the successful ones get to live a life of freedom in their RV?” “if only I could win the lottery . . . then I could buy the RV of my dreams?” “maybe when I retire . . . I’ll have the time and money to enjoy fulltime RVing?” I’ve got good news and bad news for you.
The bad news? You are sending the wrong message to your subconscious with those thoughts and words when you say things like, “I’ll never be able to afford the fulltime RVing life.”
You are strengthening and reinforcing the negative beliefs that have imprisoned you all your life. This applies to every facet of your life – your finances, your relationships, your education, your health, your dreams of fulltime RVing. Every time you dream of something bigger, something better . . . if your first response is “yeah, but . . . I can’t, I don’t, I won’t . . . you will remain stuck right where you are. And for those who long for and dream of taking off down the open road, traveling wherever and whenever you choose, living the fulltime RVing life. . . as long as you sit and wish . . . you will continue to long for and dream of the freedom. The good news? You CAN change. You can change by changing your thoughts, your words – and turn your dream of fulltime RVing into reality. You can change by taking consistent simple actions. You can break free from the prison of negative beliefs. For what it all comes down to doesn’t have anything to do with your bank account . . .it has everything to do with your belief. If you break free from the negative thoughts which are nourishing the belief that you will never be able to live the fulltime rving life . . .and if you choose to take steps to change your belief – to change your bank account – to improve your health – to find the man of your dreams – to live the fulltime rving life . . one day you’ll wake up and realize your dreams have come true. Now, if you read just read those words and immediately reply with “Yeah, but” . . . there’s the problem that’s suffocating your dream of fulltime RVing. Those two words need to be wiped from your programming. The “yeah, buts” start the downward spiral and gain momentum each time you use them. Those “yeah, buts” are like stamps on a passport that takes you to nowhere. Every time you give an excuse or blame something outside of yourself for not living the fulltime RVing life, every time you give a reason why you can’t be, do or have something you desire, you add fuel to the fire of despair and destruction of your dreams. Every time you tell yourself the fulltime RVing lifestyle only happens for the lucky one, the rich one . . . you knock yourself back to square one. Score one more for the unbelief.
But, if you begin to take consistent action to live the life that you dream – each little step will compound – like interest rates on a savings account. If you switch your negative thoughts to positive – from I can’t ever to I ABSOLUTELY WILL . . .the momentum for reaching your dreams will begin to gain and the day will come when you find yourself pulling up to a camp site on the edge of a beautiful sandy beach . . . in your brand new RV, your spouse and kids are staring wide-eyed at the magnificent view . . . the warm tropical breeze is blowing across your face . . .You’ll be grinning from ear to ear as you realize that YOU DID IT!
The sad thing is one out of twenty people will continue with the “yeah, buts” all their life.
This video clip of Jeff Olsen, author of “The Slight Edge” drives home my point.
When you come to the end of your days, what will you say to yourself? Will you look back over your long life, your head down, shoulders slumped and say, “darn, I wish I had bought that RV and taken off down the road with my spouse”
Will you smile as you look back and say, “gee, I’m glad I did everything I could to get that RV and live the fulltime RVing life?”
