MOTO2 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP - Round Silverstone Michele Pirro rode an intelligent race to take his first ever podium in the Moto2 class and reach the 3° position at Silverstone circuit. After a difficult start to the race in limited visibility on the wet track, Michele gradually made up ground and positions to take this wonderful result. Michele was rewarded after some uneasy weekend days and despite never having visited this circuit before. These good results trusted him and the team, as well as rewarded the job done up to now, with the new developments on XXF mono shock done by our technicians for this Silverstone race. A bad start for Yuki Takahashi forced him to recover to seal seventh place and some important championship points, so to move up to third in the overall standings. Michele Pirro (3°, on podium in the below picture) ”The situation at the start of the race was really difficult because the track was so wet and I didn't have much confidence. I managed to stay calm and lap after lap my feeling improved and I made up ground. I am really happy because I had never been to this circuit before and this is a really important result for the team. Hopefully it is the first of many! Thanks to the team and the sponsors. I'm really happy!” Yuki Takahashi (7°) “The start wasn't great and I had to make up a lot of positions. As the lap went by my feeling improved and I am just a little disappointed because with a better start I could have finished much higher. Anyway, we have brought home some important points for the championship and I am happy to be third overall at this stage.” Fausto Gresini “Michele rode really well at a circuit he doesn't know and after the problems he had on the first day, when he was the unfortunate victim of another rider's crash, he has done really well to pick up his first podium in a very competitive class. I am happy for him and want to congratulate him because it's an important result for him, his team and our partners. Takahashi had a good race and picked up some important points for the rest of the championship. There is a big gap to the guys at the top but the position gives the whole team confidence.”
