NEW MEMBERS Central Texas Opportunities – Central Texas Opportunities, Inc. was established in 1965 and began providing Head Start as a summer program in Coleman, Brownwood, and Winters. CTO, Inc. now serves seven counties; Brown, Callahan, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, McCulloch, and Runnels. These counties cover over 7,019 square miles with a population of over 111,000. CTO, Inc. has 14 Head Start/Early Head Start centers in the seven counties. They are funded for 396 three through five year old children and forty 0-3 year old children as well as pregnant moms. This program is designed to give pre-school age children a “head start” in socialization, education, health/nutrition, family and community relationships and help them to achieve school readiness.
