Tinkergarten -Youth Nature Exploration

Herb Garden Greenhouse Start-Up Kit Tuesday, April 9, 6-7 pm Tuesday, May 14, 6-7 pm Williams Park, Shelter 2 Ages: 4+ Cost: Regular: $20/Resident: $15 Bring your little gardener to Williams Park to learn how to create an herb garden. Each child will learn how to grow four different herbs in their own little greenhouse. Participants will compare and contrast the four different seed types and learn about the health-related benefits of each herb.

Food Doesn't Grow in Supermarkets! Thursday, May 9, 6-6:45 pm Williams Park, Shelter 1 Cost: Regular: $15/Resident: $10 This “hands-on” experience will allow children to discover the important nature-food connection. Participants will be able to see, smell and taste four different types of all-natural honey while also learning about honey bees and their role in our eco-system. (Allergy alert: This program contains real honey.)

Ages: 12+ Cost: $35 per session. Pre-registration is required. Join Brownsburg Parks and The Purple Palette at one of Brownsburg’s unique parks for guided painting! Plein Air, or “Open Air” painting, is a way to connect art and the great outdoors. All levels of experience are welcome. All materials provided. Please be prepared for the outdoor conditions, including proper shoes, water and snacks.

Tinkergarten Leader Kristi Flynn will facilitate expertly designed play scenarios that allow children of various ages and needs to explore, problem solve, communicate, collaborate, and create together. The skill area for the season will be focus and self control.

Silly Safaris Saturday, July 13, 10-11 am Williams Park, Outdoor Classroom Ages: All! Cost: Free! Online registration requested. A Silly Safaris LIVE Animal show blends facts and fun by introducing a variety of reptiles, mammals, birds and bugs to audience members of all ages. Special guests from the audience join each animal for a game that teaches about the natural world.
