in focus Inland Empire Alliance of Black School Educators Graduation and Scholarship Recognition The Inland Empire Alliance of Black School Educators recently held their Graduation and Scholarship Recognition Ceremony at the San Manuel Events Center, CSUSB before a packed house of proud family and friends. 1-Keynote Address was presented by Donzaleigh Abernathy who presented photos of her bombed-out home, being a small child, held by the hand by her father, Rev Dr. Ralph David Abernathy and side-by-side with Rev. Dr Martin Luther King, Jr, in the midst of the Civil Rights Revolution in Alabama. She reminded the graduates of the powerful role that children, high school youth, and college students played in forcing America to become a better place. 2-As in prior years, the procession of honorees was led by the Westside Pacesetters Drum Corps. 3-Carolyn Tillman; Bill Jacocks; Wilmer Amina Carter; Donzaleigh Abernathy; Melinda Sewer Muganzo; Donna Henderson, ED.D; Will Greer. 4-Bill Jacocks lead performance of the Libation ceremony. 5-Class of 2013 6-Tribute to Wilmer Amina Carter led by Melinda Sewer Muganzo with help from her friends. 7-Master of Ceremonies Will Greer Photos by John Coleman
