Our client is a world leader in the manufacture of widely used products and provides solutions in product design, processing technologies and management of the supply chain. They work closely with their customers to help them obtain the best results from their products. Their business aims to lead the market with the best products and services and they work continuously to improve them. A number of opportunities have arisen within a team that provides a project and design service to the South Wales site due to a recent multi-million pound investment to secure the long-term functionality to manage multiple projects varying in terms of capital cost and engineering content. Projects involve design, procurement, installation and commissioning, ensuring the application of the most up-to-date technological concepts at each stage.
responsibilities: • • •
this is a varied role and you will be required to plan, sequence and organise all operations associated with the project with regards to timing, storage of equipment and agreeing plant down times with management as an expert in your field, you will make recommendations for plant and equipment, and will select the preferred supplier in-line with the specification and budgeted cost you may functionally supervise Design Teams, as well as the work of other Project Engineers if the workload requires it - with this in mind, you will ensure that all internal staff and contractors meet the requirements of the programme whilst working to safety standards
qualifications / experience / personal qualities: you must: • have previous experience in project / design / plant engineering work • be educated to HNC level or equivalent in a relevant discipline • have an appreciation of the techniques, problems and standards associated with process related engineering disciplines • be a self-motivated individual who has knowledge of process safety and COMAH Tier 1 sites
advantageous experience includes: • • • • • •
capital projects experience (ideally a minimum of £5million) process safety knowledge e.g. petrochemical / power / steel / water industries OCC H&S experience - CDM & Safety processes people management – direct / indirect dealing with third party contractor in substantial numbers corporate membership of the appropriate institution
