Division 38 West | Quartz Hill High School Club Newsletter

March 2012 |Volume 1 | Issue 3

Hey Quartz Hill Robots

In this issue!

This is the last Newsletter I will be presenting you. After this year’s DCON (April 13-15), your new board will be installed and a new club newsletter editor will be chosen! Or, the position will be combined with the existing, elected position of Club Technology Editor. For those of you interested, please discuss the position with your 2012-2013 board! Also, for those of you interested in this position next year, feel free to contact me if you’d like to learn more about where to get the resources, the Key Club graphic standards, etc. A request I have, though, is that next year we have more members writing articles for the newsletter. To reach this goal, I’d like to request for all Key Clubbers to write a reflection of their year in Key Club and how you would like to improve next year. Quartz Hill Newsletter Editor, Brittnee Bui

Quartz Hill Key Club’s Sadie Hawkins dance (held on February 25) started out a bit rough, but ended successfully! Although the numbers were discouraging at first, the night ended well because everyone had a good time. We succeeded in raising over $600! Big thanks to everyone who attended and to everyone who contributed!

L-O-V-E (for Rashika and Peter) L-O-V-E we love our LTG! L-O-V-E we love our LTG! (repeat as many time until someone starts speaking) Spirit Battles We’ve got spirit, yes we do We’ve got spirit, how ‘bout you?! (This will continue for a while, so to save your voice for the next one, say: 1,2, 3, 4, we’ve got more, we’ve got more! 5, 6, 7, 8, but you did great, you did great!) Attitude Check! WE LOVE KEY CLUB!

Upcoming Events DCON (District Convention) District Convention is just around the corner! After DCON, our current board will retire and our boardelect shall be installed. Our LTG, Rashika Choudhary from our home club, will also be installed during this time! Here, we will also be electing our new Executive Board (consisting of District Governor, Secretary, Treasurer, and Technology Editor). It is also an honor for our division, Division 38 West, to have three members running! Day 1 Attire: Spirit Casual (please be aware that shirts with logos other than Key Club logos are inappropriate) Day 2 Attire: Business Casual Day 3 Attire: Business Formal Governor’s Ball: Semi-formal Please check the CNH Cyber Key to see what clothing is deemed “appropriate”. If you think it might be inappropriate, it probably is.

Relay for Life For those of you unable to attend DCON, there is another alternative! The Lancaster Relay for Life will be held Saturday, April 14th at Quartz Hill High School. You can attend individually or you can attend in a group to walk laps and assist people in setting up their tents. It’s a perfect opportunity for you to raise awareness, get some exercise, and have fun! It’s also quite convenient, seeing that it is at our home school!
