You are welcome to arrive early like 0800 when more space wil be available. The only paperwork required for participation in the tournament is the “BBF Photo and Video Release Form”. This form must be completed and returned for every player on your team. All registration was completed beforehand via the website. All waiver requests need to be submitted to Michael Holm and approved before the tournament begins. Please reference the rules document for age restrictions and equipment specifications. All team members should wear a conventional uniform that consists of: • Shirt / Jersey • Baseball Pants • Socks • Baseball Hat No Protest can be made based on an umpire’s judgement call. Equipment that does not meet the safety requirements as enforced by the umpires and Tournament Coordinator will be removed. All umpires are qualified and the crew chief for the weekend wil be Darrin Muller. The British Baseball Federation would like to remind all parents that they are responsible for their child’s wellbeing and to be mindful of where their children are always. This is especially important between games, and for any younger siblings or relatives who may also be in attendance. First Aid will be provided on site. Male and female toilets available on site at the HOME PLATE CAFE.

ANNOUNCEMENT

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BRITISH BASEBALL FEDERATION TO HOLD PONY EUROPEAN ZONE CHAMPIONSHIPS QUALIFIER PONY Baseball and The British Baseball Federation (BBF) www.britishbaseballfederation.com the National Governing Body of Baseball, announce a re-established partnership. Starting with the BBF Youth Baseball National Championships (YNBC's), which are scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday, the winners (in respective age groups) will then automatically qualify to take part in the PONY European Zone Championships in Prague, Czech Republic the subsequent year. "On behalf of the PONY League European Zone, we are pleased that we re-established our partnership with BBF,” said Jan Bagin, PONY European Zone Director. “In past years, the teams from UK were the most often attending teams at the PONY League European Zone qualifying tournament. In the early years of the tournament, in 2002 and 2003, Upper Heyford won the qualifier and participated in the Colt World Series. We, as organizers, are sure that participation of the BBF’s best teams will increase the quality of the tournament and will help to the development of baseball within Europe.” Beginning Saturday at Farnham Park in Slough, the YNBC will consist of 25 teams spread across five different age divisions. To watch the event’s live stream, click here (www.youtube.com/user/BBFBritishBaseball). PONY is an international amateur baseball and softball organization for players from ages 3-23. PONY is celebrating its 67th anniversary in 2018 and can be found in more than 60 other countries. PONY was founded in Washington, Pennsylvania in 1951 with six original teams of 13 and 14 year-olds.   Today, PONY has more than 30,000 teams with more than 500,000 annual participants. The name PONY comes from the acronym, Protect Our Nation's Youth. PONY holds nine baseball and four softball World Series or international championships from mid-July to mid-August annually, culminating with its esteemed Pony League World Series at Lew Hays PONY Field in Washington. A spokesperson for the BBF, said, “strategically, we aim to understand our landscape and members needs. After that, extend our collaboration and partnerships with baseball organizations, which offer the highest quality, opportunities, and flexibility, as our members are the key to the development and sustainability of our sport. We are delighted to work with PONY and grateful for their recognition in working with us directly as the National Governing Body of Baseball. By integrating our National Championships and PONY Qualification, it offers more significant opportunities to local teams, and the importance of our Youth Baseball National Championships just got better. In the future, we plan to work with PONY on other projects.”

MARC KOYANAGI MVP YOUTH AWARD

Wed 5 September 2018 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Marc Koyanagi Youth MVP Award

The British Baseball Federation the National Governing Body of Baseball, announces it will be naming its Youth National Baseball Championship MVP award (for each division) after Marc Koyanagi. In 2017, Marc while attending a youth game suffered a medical emergency and later passed away.  Marc Koyanagi was a loving father who was survived by his sons Graydon and Hudson and wife Susan. For over ten years, Marc was an active participant in the community in developing youth baseball.  A spokesperson for the British Baseball Federation, said, "Marc symbolised all that is good about our sport e.g., he was a kind and dedicated man to his family, others and friends. Marc was a quiet person who worked behind the scenes and touched so many which unknown to most had a material impact in developing youth baseball. His legacy is measured by the lives and communities that are better off for having been touched by Marc. For the mentioned, we honour Marc by naming our British Baseball Federation MVP Youth Award after him. The Marc Koyanagi MVP Youth Award will be awarded to the youth player who demonstrates skill and character, which were symbols of Marc and what an MVP should be."  The BBF Youth National Baseball Championships will be webcast "live' on the 15th and 16th September through our BBF YouTube Channel link: www.youtube.com/user/BBFBritishBaseball ABOUT THE BRITISH BASEBALL FEDERATION  The British Baseball Federation (BBF) is the National Governing Body of Baseball in Great Britain.
