Quinn Bachand, one of Canada's most outstanding award winning young musicians and violinist Richard Moody, a veteran of the Canadian music scene share a common love of Gypsy Jazz music and have teamed up to form this sizzling hot West Coast Jazz Manouche ensemble. The stellar BRISHEN line up includes Reuben Wier on rhythm guitar and vocals and Joey Smith on upright bass. With diverse musical talents and a bottomless pool of creativity, seventeen year old Quinn Bachand is an award winning musician, an experienced performer and gifted multi-instrumentalist who is at ease playing a wide range of styles, from Celtic to Gypsy Jazz. Inspired by The Hot Club of France, at age eleven Quinn formed a gypsy jazz trio,The Djazzkids`. As part of the award winning duo of Qristina & Quinn Bachand, he has won two Irish Music Awards and been nominated for 3 Canadian Folk Music Awards, a Western Canadian Music Award and four Vancouver Island Music Awards, winning 2013 Youth Performer of the Year. An in demand sideman, Quinn has toured and performed at major Folk and Celtic festivals across Canada, the United States, Europe and Australia with such notable artists as Ashley MacIsaac and Natalie MacMaster. A veteran of the Canadian music scene and considered by some as an underground legend, violinist Richard Moody has delved into almost every style a string player can try. Still in his teens he moved to Montreal and joined the gypsy jazz group 'Swing Dynamique'. Several years later and after a classical music education at the University of Manitoba and the Conservatoire Nationale de Musique in Caen, France, he co-founded the critically acclaimed folk rock group 'Acoustically Inclined', garnering a huge national following. Richard has performed and/or recorded with a variety of artists including Jane Siberry and Joel Fafard and is currently also a member of the Juno nominated band The Bills. Richard's musical interests lie mainly in improvisation, drawing from and combining the many styles and techniques he has learned in his extensive musical travels.
