Hello, My name is Bri Holden, I am a 5th year Landscape Architecture Student. This portfolio will take you through projects I enjoyed in school, and experiences during my internship at Confluence. Enjoy.

DIGITAL EXPLORATION STUDIO In Newton IA, the Maytag headquarters is vacant, this project is proposing what can be done with the site in the green space, occupancy with the buildings, and a connection with downtown while exploring multiple digital methods to produce final product.

PARK MASTER PLAN Pleasant Hill has a 70 acre site that is corn field split by woods with ridges and valleys. With this site being the backyard to an Elementary School and development growing toward the site the city is looking to turn this into a park that will support the community and the school.

19

The final master plan gives a look at the programs decided on for the final design.

The site is broken down into five parts, each part contains programs the city wants for a future park. ONE clarifies the school, TWO is where sports will be located, THREE is flex space, FOUR is hiking paths, FIVE is a space for a dog park.

22

These pictures are exisiting photos of the site, the pictures demonstrate how much of the 70 acres cannot be built on, leaving most of the options to be soft trails.

23

These pictures are selected to represent some important highlights being brought to the park.

Photo 1, the board walk that crosses the creek near the soccer fields Photo 2 How check dam’s will look in the site to reducing erosion Photo 3 The underpass allowing a connection to the elementary school Photo 4 The open lawn giving a flex space for the future

24

This master plan is for Four Mile Elementary School students to understand what activities can happen in certain areas of the site.

25

The master plan contains a dog park in the NW corner, sports area in the SE corner open lawn for flex space and play, hiking trails throughout the woods with viewsheds on the ridges, and water basins to control erosion within the woods.

26

RESIDENTIAL DESIGN This project demonstrates planting plans, hand graphics, and residential design.

27

Exisiting site photo of the house, the proposed design includes a butterfly garden, prairie, patio for outdoor kitchen and fireplace, pond, and a shade garden shaping around the patio and pond.
