ENGAGEMENT: 15 Months STARTING BUDGET: $15,000 ENDING BUDGET: $20,000 STARTING GUEST COUNT: 180 ENDING GUEST COUNT: 110 FIRST LOOK: Yes! Favorite part of our day! FAVORITE DANCE SONG: “Julep” - Punch Brothers HONEYMOON DESTINATION: Costa Rica FAVORITE PART OF PLANNING: I enjoy thrifting, crafting and decorating. Shopping for our centerpieces and making the florals were my favorite! PROPOSAL: We took a beautiful hike with our dog while camping over Memorial Day weekend. On the banks of Green River he asked me to marry him. While we knew we were planning on marriage, I wasn’t anticipating a proposal quite yet. He knew I wanted to have an engagement ring made with a stone I inherited from my grandmother, so he proposed with a lovely band of steel, turquoise and deer antler. His wedding band matches and now I wear my proposal band as my everyday wedding ring! IMPORTANT ELEMENTS: More than any material object, the things most important to use were supporting businesses in our community, guest experience and sustainability. We’re also very big on Southern Hospitality, so making sure that guests were well fed and watered was paramount. Our receiving line was the bar so we could serve everyone their first drink!
