KEEPERS OF SONG SESSION IN THE LOUNGE AT 2PM
Recently reformed, The Voice Squad are a ground breaking acapella traditional singing group made up of the distinctive tenor voices of Fran McPhail and Phil Callery and the baritone of Gerry Cullen. We are delighted to welcome them back to Derrytresk to open the Singing Weekend.
Our Keepers of Song are those most associated with Geordie’s style of singing and with his memorial weekend over the years. Here they will join other invited guests and local singers in an open singing session paying tribute to the man himself. Our Singers in Residence, Rita Gallagher and Cathal Lynch, will also be available throughout the afternoon to share their songs and singing techniques with individuals and small groups.

DR. PÁDRAIGÍN Ní UALLACHÁIN
Pádraigín is an author, singer & songwriter from the Oriel region of Southeast Ulster. She is the first ever Traditional Singer in Residence at Queen’s University, Belfast.
The launch of a commemorative double CD of archive material from the last 25 years of the Geordie Hanna Weekend featuring performances from some of the many fine singers who were recorded live at the Weekend down through the years. The CD will be launched by Seamus McMathuna and Jeannie McGrath and members of the Hanna Family will perform some of the songs Geordie was best known for.
THE BIG SINGING SESSION FROM 10PM TIL LATE
As a finale to our 25th Anniversary weekend we are delighted to present Sí Van, a new group composed of renowned singers Mary Dillon, Niamh Parsons and Tíona McSherry. Singing together as a trio they create a powerful and beautiful sound.
Reel It In are Niall Murphy (Camlough, Co. Armagh), Eamon Rooney (Mayobridge, Co. Down), and Ciarán and Niall Hanna, grandsons of Geordie. Together they produce a modern flavour of traditional tunes.
The Children's & Storytelling workshops will run simultaneously.

Mairead is a renowned Co. Antrim singer, influenced by Jeannie McGrath & John Kennedy. She regularly works with young people to promote traditional singing.

Patsy received the Hall of Fame award from the Bard of Armagh festival in 2010 having won the title three times.. Vinnie is a Derrytresk native with many local tales.
