CONVERSION BENEFITS The Brevik Technology class approved cylindrical cargo containment system is well designed for conversion of existing vessels to LNG carriers and LNG bunker vessels. The design allows for a leading hull utilization, short yard period and outstanding cost efficiency. Brevik Technology with partners has, for several bulk carrier ship-owners, designed conversion projects proving the system to be most efficient. Benefits of conversion includes: ■ Cost efficient ■ Time to final delivery ■ Utilization of unproductive existing vessels ■ Time to market segment ■ Technologically and operationally equal to new build

BULKER BLUEPRINT Converting existing bulker carriers are an highly efficient and cost effective way to market with an LNG carrier or LNG bunker vessel. Dependent on existing hull, will only minor alterations and construction work have to be done with the existing hull to accommodate for Brevik Technology’s cargo containment system. Brevik Technology with partners has, for several bulk carrier ship-owners, designed conversion projects proving the system to be most efficient solution for conversion.

CONTAINER VESSEL Container vessels comes in many sizes, shapes and forms. The Brevik Technology team, with partners, has designed conversion candidates for several ship owners and other stakeholders in the container vessel segment. A thorough candidate assessment will be performed by the highly experienced team through an front end engineering and design phase (FEED) where the existing conversion candidate and needed modification to the vessel will be assessed. Container vessels of several sizes are already assessed and proves that conversion are very both technological and financial viable.

CONVERSION DEVELOPMENT Upon request the Brevik Technology team, in cooperation with partners are ready to assess any project of conversion candidates. The team of highly skilled engineers and mariners have decades of experience with bot container and bulker vessels as well as LNG-vessels. A typical development of the project includes world leading suppliers within the LNG industry, and consists of following phases: ■ ■
Design Brief of existing vessel Front End Engineering Design (FEED) including ■ Conversion Candidate Assessment ■ Tailor Made Cargo Containment Design ■ Tailor Made Cargo Handling System ■ Tailor Made Insulation System ■ Propulsion Systems (Conversion to LNG propulsion) ■ Specifications for pricing at yards ■ Drawings for pricing at yards
Brevik Technology and partners will follow the project from start to finish allowing for nothing else than the best end product for the client.

What Type of Cargo Containment system is Brevik Offering?
The cargo containment system is an cylindrical containment system within the classifications of an IMO B-tank. The tank allows for 0.7 bar overpressure and have secondary barrier as a part of the insulation system.
Is the cargo containment system certified?
The cargo containment system has been certified through an Approval in Principle (AiP) by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and through an complete class approval (GASA) by DNV-GL.
Is the insulation system proven?
Yes, this system is the most common insulation system used on IMO B-tank cargo containment systems. The insulation system is based on polyurethane foam panels who are pinned to the tank and operates as secondary barrier for the tank.
Is the cargo handling system proven?
Yes, the cargo handling system is a system proven on all types of tanks containing cryogenic liquids
Are there any limitations with regards to half full tanks?
No, There are no limitations with regards to the filling level of the tanks.
