Jonathan Hoefler founded the Hoefler Type Foundry in 1989, when digital typography was in it’s earliest stages. While others were creating novelty fonts, Hoefler was busy perfecting the traditional. In 1991, he released Hoefler Text; a typeface “steeped in the virtues of classical typography”. Hoefler Text features extended ligature sets, old-style figures, small caps, an italic, and a number of ornaments, turning this contemporary serif into a modern classic.
Gotham NOT THE TYPEFACE WE DESERVED, BUT THE TYPEFACE WE NEEDED
Originally commissioned by GQ Magazine, this New York inspired typeface is masculine, new, and fresh. In creating this face, Hoefler & Frere-Jones drew influences from post-war building signage and hand-painted letters seen around the city. Gotham rose to fame in 2008 after it was chosen for both the Obama campaign and the cornerstone of the Freedom Tower. Since then, this vernacular sans serif is everywhere. With a lowercase, an italic, a full range of weights, and a familiar feel, it is easy to say that Gotham is the typeface of the decade.

Arhcer features a range of numerics, tabular figures, and fractions that are graceful in large or lighter than light weights.
