Training Information The Graduate Hall Directors and Complex Directors have been hard at work training this past week and are eager to welcome you all back to campus when we start training on August 10th.
As we approach training, we ask that you all keep an open mind. RA training is what you make it. The skills you learn will not only help you in the RA position, but they will benefit you in numerous areas of your life. Ask any returning RA and they can tell you
that some of their best friendships have been formed through the RA training experience.

Appropriate Dress for Training Staff members should be prepared to “dress for the occasion”. Below you will find the guidelines for the clothing that you can wear on various days throughout training. Outdoor Dress- Clothes for outdoors that you can get wet or dirty. Tennis shoes are required. Casual Dress- Shorts, Capri pants or pants (jeans or khaki), t-shirts or nice shirts.
Business Casual- No Flip-Flops, no jeans, no shorts.
Final Tips for Dress During Training:
Examples for both men and women are below. *Men- khakis, dress pants, nice shirts
Holes in clothes are not appropriate. T-shirts with print must be tasteful. Skirts and shorts should not be too short. Bare midriffs are not appropriate.
*Women- khakis, dressy capris, dress pants, skirts, nice shirts or blouses
Remember, you are in a semiprofessional position now, so dress the role!

RA Council Elections RA Council has currently elected the President and Vice President. We will be electing the Secretary/Treasurer, First Year Rep, Programmer and Greek Rep during training. Please consider running for a position! It is a great way to get involved and serve your fellow RAs.
The position duties are as follows: *Secretary/Treasurer: Take minutes, keep an updated budget, send out correspondence and newsletter *First Year Rep: Serves as a resource to first year RAs and voices questions/concerns
*Greek Rep: Serve as voice for the Greek RAs (along with URS/N reps) *Programmer: Coordinates the educational and social programs for the year.
Camp Information This year, we will be returning to Covenant Cedars located in Hordville, NE. We have a lot fun activities planned for camp such as a challenge course, climbing wall, zip line, and lake activities. Be sure to pack your tennis shoes, as well as a positive attitude. Look over the packing list so that you are prepared for camp.
