napa valley cabin
for this renovation project i created documents that highlights the extent of repair required and additional opportunities to improve the cabin.
our unit was designed out of laminated 2x4 lumber and uses a chevron form with pins and slots to allow for additional opportunities to gain multiple axis of movement.
this construction creates a space that provides shading from the sun, a relaxing environment, and frames ideal views of the surrounding campus buildings.
case study: onestop for this study we created an abstract model to emphasize the stair along with a series of hand drawn plans, sections, and elevations.
this project required me to complete and make periodic updates to this model as the design changed.
pool house creates a plinth to bring the patrons into a state of separation from the outside world. the four primary walls puncture through multiple spaces and creates a perceived datum through the space.
halls of pool house are dim but always lead into gathering spaces which are naturally lit by diffused light. once the patrons reach the pools the spaces open out and reconnect them with the scenic landscape around them.
