Storefront When ordering from the bonobos website, customers recieve a well branded box with a tailored product inside. When walking along the streets of New York, what catches the customers eye is that same well branded store front with the amazing product. The Inspiration

Day 1-10 Display units line the walls creating a walk way around the store. By placing the checkout and the dressing rooms in the back of the store it foces the customers to walk through the entire store looking atall of the merchandise before leaving.

Days 11-20 When walking into this space it seems comfortable and friendly, by placing merchandise in the front and the back of the store customers can get a clear distinction between seasonal items and other items that would be carried year round, much like the setup of the website.

! " #$%& ' ( )*#+" , Project Statement A residential space anchored in the heart of down town Lafayette, of fers residents an experience like no othe, with shopping, resturants, and nightlife all in walking distance, located on the corner of Garfield street and Buchanan street, those living in the space can enjoy what Lafayette is truly about. The idea of new urbanism and the functionality of a neighborhood comes together to create a “vertical neighborhood,” offering community spaces, along with private family spaces. Five units containing two one-story apartments with roof top gardens above each, and three two-story, loft style apartments, each with access to the community gardens. Large floor to ceiling windows give the residents great views and a great amount of natural light. This space not only creates a residence, but a lifestyle. Concept Statement The idea of living in the suburbs has been the American dream for many years, but studies show that todays young adults are migrating back into the cities. We call this latest trend “new urbanism” which idealy becomes a walkable city where the emphasis is taken of f of the automobile. The buildings become “mixed” buildings which serve as residential, commercial, and everything in between. There is also an emphasis on the community and connectivity of the residents. When comparing these new urban dwellings to the traditional surburban living we can see that they are not that dif ferent as far as the wants and needs of the residents. The issue that arises with the urban dwelling is that out door space that you get from a yard. The solution to this “vertical neighborhoods,” where instead of moving outward as in the surburbs, we move up. This brings communical spaces and “yards” up, off of the street level, which creats a small community withing the buildings much like a traditional subdivision.
