Ms. Hrubes’s Classroom Newsletter November 20, 2009 Notes and Upcoming Events

A look at the week This past week, we worked through the end of Unit 3 in our Math Journals. We will take our takes on Unit 3 on Monday morning. In reading, we finished the story Night of the Pufflings. Burrows, venture, stranded, instinctively, uninhabited and nestles were our vocabulary words. We took notes on puffins from our textbooks and websites. We will work on writing an informative paragraph on puffins at the beginning of next week. In computers, we are working on Microsoft Excel charts and learning about e-mail.

 

  

Thanksgiving Break will be next Thursday and Friday, November 26-27th. All students need to finish 2 reading counts books by the end of November to get their passport stamped for Europe. Please fill in your son/daughter’s reading calendar each night. They will be due on Tuesday, December 1st. The Christmas Program is scheduled for Tuesday, December 15th @ 7:00 p.m. The Flu Shot has been cancelled for students due to the shortage of vaccines. Scholastic Book Orders are due on Friday, December 4, 2009. Books make great gifts!!
