Costa Family and Cosmetic Dentistry C

osta Family & Cosmetic Dentistry firmly believes in supporting our community and giving back to those around us. It is part of the culture that we have created at the office, and we are proud of it! We have donated to various local schools, sports teams, organizations, and events in the local community – too many to list!

In addition to offering dental screenings at local schools and senior centers, we also opened our office for a day for free dentistry to those in need through Dentistry from the Heart. We treated 91 patients and provided a total of $58,000 in free dentistry! We also sponsor an array of local cancer charities, including Step Sisters, Love Crushes Cancer, Team Mattias, and Smashing Walnuts. In total, we have given more than $20,000 to local cancer charities. We also sponsor Sprout Therapeutic Riding Center, which offers therapeutic services through partnerships with horses for those with disabilities, special needs, or those in need of healing and hope.

Another neat thing we do to give back during the holidays is to take the entire office to Build-A-Bear, where each team member makes a bear and then delivers it to a children's hospital. We also adopt multiple families through Loudoun County services and shop for gifts for each family member in order to provide them with a holiday to remember. It’s one of our favorite days of the year when we get together to wrap gifts and head to Build-A-Bear!

Northern Virginia Orthodontics G

iving back to the community is more than just a mission statement for the team at Northern Virginia Orthodontics – it is a true guiding principle. Since 2008, NVO has donated over $1.2 million to local organizations, schools, and the fight against pediatric cancer.

In 2018, NVO has had the pleasure of working with and giving to a variety of community organizations and causes including Team Mathias, Step Sisters, and the new Brambleton Library, as well as to local elementary, middle school, and high school activities, events, sports teams, and clubs.

NVO not only gives back to the community, but we also empower our patients to contribute to important causes in our neighborhood through our NVO Cup for a Cure Starbucks Cafe. At NVO’s Brambleton office, all patients and their guests receive a free beverage at our in-house Starbucks cafe, and for each drink we serve, NVO donates $1 to pediatric cancer research and awareness. This year NVO is supporting the Inova Schar Cancer Institute, and so far, NVO’s patients have helped us raise $19,970!

To help ensure that NVO can make an even bigger impact in the communities of the patients we serve, we are pleased to announce the formation of our 501(c)(3) non-profit, The NVO Foundation. One hundred percent of the proceeds of every donation to The NVO Foundation support our mission of actively impacting the fight against cancer and contributing towards the greatest needs of the community and area schools. If you’re interested in learning more about The NVO Foundation or making a donation, please visit nvoforacure.org. While 2018 has been truly remarkable for the team at Northern Virginia Orthodontics, we know that there is so much more we can do to help our amazing community in the coming year.
