There’s so much more to enhance your theatre-going experience at Bradford Theatres. Why not book a meal for your group or family as part of your theatre visit? Call our Hospitality Team on 01274 431052 to find out more.

We anticipate that 2010 will be just as successful and as the 4th dance season launches at Bradford Theatres, we hope you will be able to join us. We welcome back regular visitors, Northern Ballet Theatre and Matthew Bourne – both with very different interpretations of Swan Lake; as well as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater who bring a dynamic and exciting programme to the city. The Dance Consortium presents

“It’s exhilarating, breath-taking stuff” The Guardian

When it premiered at Sadler’s Wells in 1995, Matthew Bourne’s triumphant modern re-interpretation of Swan Lake turned tradition upside down, taking the dance world by storm. Now firmly crowned as a modern day classic, this iconic production is perhaps best-known for replacing the traditional female corps de ballet with a menacing male ensemble. Matthew Bourne blends dance, humour and spectacle with extravagant, award-winning designs by Lez Brotherston, to create a provocative and powerful Swan Lake for our times. Join us in Bradford for an unforgettable night at the theatre.

This exciting international dance company from Rio de Janeiro present their latest awe-inspiring dance work, Cruel. Stunning visual effects combined with the physical precision of this company, absolutely takes your breath away. Don’t miss this extraordinarily inventive dance company when they’re at the Alhambra Theatre.

Yorkshire Evening Post

This haunting and romantic adaptation of Swan Lake brings you a moving story of betrayal and all-encompassing love. In New England in the early twentieth century, a wealthy college boy lives with his parents on a luxurious lakeside estate. In his last summer of innocence the young man finds himself struggling to cope as his relationships with his closest friends, Odilia and Simon, begin to change. One night, as he lingers by the lake, he is drawn into the world of a beautiful swan-like creature who becomes an obsession. Events reach a climax at his birthday party when he becomes bewitched by a suddenly transformed Odilia, setting the inescapable tragedy of this Swan Lake in motion.
