servestrong launch Sunday
Today is not a normal day at Blackshear Place. Today, we launch a MOVEMENT. Webster defines the word “movement” as, “a progressive development of ideas, a series of actions or activities tending toward a particular end.” Today, we launch a MOVEMENT to show the love of Christ and tell people why.
This launch is not just a morning worship and Bible Fellowship event. It involves Leadership Meetings today at 4:30 for our Bible Fellowship leaders and an evening service like no other. You will not want to miss our special guests 33 Miles, as they set the stage for a personal challenge from Pastor Jeff about a simple way we can join the movement this week!

Through the Bible Fellowship ministry, the movement continues. Every Bible Fellowship class is emphasizing ServeStrong through missions and ministry. Their creative ideas to serve the community include visiting a local laundromat with rolls of quarters to wash clothes, providing free car washes, free sodas in the park, free mowing and yard clean up, or lunch for construction crews. Our goal is to have more than 100 BF classes First project: complete a project before Easter and use this Leading up to Easter as an opportunity to invite hundreds to join us in Second project: worship on that great day. Community Impact Day These acts of service will culminate as we Aug. 28 take more than 1,000 boxes of food to hungry Third project: Anytime throughout families in our community and share God’s love the year with them.

Pastor’s ServeStrong Challenge You’ve NEVER seen this before! And 33 Miles in concert Instead of rushing off to lunch, we’re encouraging our church members to take a box of food after morning services to a family in need in our community. On this day, we will have an open door to share the love of Jesus with these families and invite them to hear the Good News on Easter.
All of our guests are invited to meet Pastor Jeff after the 9:30 & 11:00am worship services. He would like to personally thank you for being with us today. The Guest Reception area is easily located just outside the set of doors on the piano side of the stage, then to your right.
Throughout the year, we will take special days to celebrate what God is doing through ServeStrong. Our first celebration will be Easter 2010. This year will feature four Easter services. Our first ever Saturday night Easter service will kick off the weekend on April 3. It will be followed by three services on Sunday, April 4. Begin now inviting people to one of these special celebration services.
