SANTOS DE CARTIER In 1904, at the request of the Franco-Brazilian aviator Alberto SantosDumont, Louis Cartier developed one of the first ever wristwatches known to mankind – the Cartier Santos. Prior to this point, Santos had difficulties checking the time mid-flight since it was difficult to pull out his pocket watch whilst keeping control of the plane. The Cartier Santos quickly solved this problem and ultimately revolutionized the world of watchmaking. However, it’s not only this history that captures the hearts of the watch lovers today, it is the classic and elegant design of the timepiece that makes it so alluring. While this watch has always been in the collection, Cartier rebooted the icon with new models which will charm with their elegant appeal and tell a true tale of pioneering history. The classic rounded square design with screw-set bezel looks good on men and women. It comes in two sizes: medium and large and in the same metal options: stainless steel, two-tone (steel and yellow gold), pink gold, and yellow gold.
