The Old Fire Station events
After a challenging year of Covid-19 restrictions the time has come to get together again and celebrate your arrival at university. SUBU has pulled together a great collection of events - all in the union’s own venue - The Old Fire Station. If you love big club nights - we have them. If you yearn for great bands making the hair stand up on your neck - we also have them. If you fancy chuckling away to some of the finest rising stars of stand up comedy - we have them too. For some of you it will become your second home!

Dylan’s Kitchen & Bar
The only bar (and a great eatery) on Talbot Campus puts on regular socials such as quizzes (on Mondays) and karaoke (on Thursdays) from the start of term - it’s a good choice if you like good prices and don’t want to be out too late.
Trips and tours
If you love exploring, SUBU runs a range of exciting tours to beautiful cities like Brighton, Bath and Oxford as well as to world heritage sites like Stonehenge and the Jurassic Coast. Trips run year-round and are a great way to see some amazing places with your friends.

Beyond your arrival
There are lots of ways you can be involved with SUBU throughout the year. Our clubs and societies and volunteering opportunities run through the year and you can join in at any time. In February we’ll be celebrating LGBT History Month, followed by Women’s History Month in March. During these months there’ll be lots of activities you can get involved with. The Summer Ball
If there was only one event at university that could be described as unmissable, this is it. It is the largest student event in the UK and takes place in a mini festival style setting, featuring stunning music and entertainment across multiple stages. We’ll transport you there and back by bus. It has always been the most memorable event of the year and will return in 2022 in full after a two year absence. We can’t wait to see you there.
