To all Bottomup friends & supporters: It is a known fact that ½ the learners in public education don’t complete school. By the time most learners reach high school it’s already too late because learners are inadequately equipped, unable to catch up and have already learnt habits which impact them negatively. We believe the work of Bottomup (which you enable) is part of the solution to this very real problem of public education in South Africa. Fostering a culture of learning today can make a big difference tomorrow. Here follows some updates about Bottomup.

Careers Day! (Volunteer Opportunity)

Thanks to Orcansu Productions for assisting us with filming and editing a video which will be used to further the cause of our organisation >> School Improvement.

Last year Bottomup’s Life Orientation Junior Careers Day was a success, so we’ll be running it again this year - which means we need your help! If you’re able get time off work to talk to Grade 7 learners about your profession we’d love to have you participate.

Our literacy programme parent training session was a success , with four parents attending and an additional seven indicating interest to join in the tutoring sessions The programme has launched and is off to a great start this quarter. So far over 100 learners are participating and an additional 120 learners will be joining them as we implement with our second group of Grade 4 & 5’s. We hope to take some of these learners to the inter-school tournament next year. Community is currently running the ‘Pak ‘n Tassie’ Campaign to collect bags and stationery for disadvantaged learners in our partner schools. If you are interested in participating in this campaign please email: or check for more info.

There will be two opportunities of which you need only choose one >> 28 November and the 1st December. To participate please email:
