What teachers say about our Programme. “Your guidance has opened an avenue to a sense of belonging to our learners. They have shown tremendous improvement and growth in building a positive self esteem and image. “ “You have made my task easier, as word building became a breeze, recognising and identifying sounds was no nightmare. Even the weaker learners showed enthusiasm and excitement to attend their sessions.” “Your participation in learners lives are vital. Not many of them experience the love and patience at home that you are willing to give them.” “I hope that the programme will continue next year as you have delivered an excellent service to our school and the kids.”

A special year to celebrate Madiba’s Birthday! Thanks to a partnership with Prime Letting we were able to organise a Mandela Day experience. 80 learners had the opportunity to partake in a fun activity painting pictures that symbolise South Africa. It was great to have learners honour Nelson Mandela in this way.

Numeracy Pilot Project

78 Learners

The Bottomup numeracy project was piloted in the 4th term and has proven successful. Using Khan Academy as well as 10 Monkeys cloud-based software while guided by a Bottomup coach, learners have mastered skills which they previously found challenging. In some cases these skills were beyond their grade level.

Teacher Development

Building Bridges This year we were able to reach out to learners as well as teachers. We had a fantastic training session with Perivale teachers. In this training teachers were able to learn ways to work better together as well as exploring small powerful ways to develop a sense of pride and belonging for their learners and parents.
