Allchurches Trust THE CHARITY THAT PROMOTES THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION


“over £55m in donations since 1972.” Allchurches Trust Limited Allchurches Trust limited is a registered charity established in 1972. Its aims are to promote the Christian religion, to contribute to the funds of charitable institutions or associations and to carry out any charitable purpose. Allchurches Trust is the parent company of Ecclesiastical Insurance Office plc, a company specialising in insuring Anglican churches and churches of other denominations. Ecclesiastical pass all available profits to the Trust. The Trust in turn donates the money to a wide range of charities. Over the last fifteen years, donations from Ecclesiastical have enabled Allchurches Trust to distribute £48.4 million to dioceses, parishes and other charitable organisations.

What the Trust supports Grants will be considered in response to appeals in support of churches, church establishments, religious charities and charities preserving the heritage of the United Kingdom. Grants will normally be made in the form of a single payment.


Just some of the grants we have made... Allchurches Trust Limited, funded by Ecclesiastical Insurance Office plc, has steadily increased distributions to church and charitable organisations to over £55m since 1972. The Trust has supported cathedrals and church bodies in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Some examples of recent donations are listed below to give an illustration of the variety of uses for which the grants were awarded:

Deafway – Preston, Lancashire - £2,000 Deafway provides residential services to deaf people of varying ages from all over the United Kingdom. Financial assistance was provided to assist with the redecoration and refurbishment of the residents’ bedrooms.

Brecon Cathedral Choir Endowment Appeal - £5,000 Financial assistance was provided to secure the future of choral music at the Cathedral and to establish choral bursaries, which enables young people to join the choir and receive music tuition.


Holy Trinity Church – Bath, Derbyshire - £4,000 Funds were awarded to Holy Trinity Church to provide nursery, and after school facilities for the children of the community together with the installation of disabled access, meeting rooms, a flexible worship area, heating and catering facilities.

Coventry Cathedral - £7,500 Financial assistance was provided to assist with major repairs to the Cathedral roof.

All Saint’s Church – Haggerston, London - £5,000 All Saint’s Church received financial assistance to help the Church to serve better the community through the creation of a café, crèche and a Church Hall.


Restrictions on charitable grants The Trust is unable to support appeals from:  charities with political associations  national charities  individuals

 appeals from the same recipient twice in one year or in two consecutive years  appeals for running costs and salaries.
