Borrisoleigh Charity Cycle Borrisoleigh Charity Cycle began in 2004 as a fundraiser for the playground which is now sited in the Town Park. The plan was to get local people to seek sponsorship to complete the 25 mile circuit through Thurles, Templemore and returning to Borrisoleigh. Historical Society The Historical Walk scheduled for the 2014 festival has been cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control. There will be live music instead
As most of you will be aware this Society was formally established last year. Our first significant project involved the organisation of a Historical Walk -" Down Memory Lane" through Borrisoleigh on the 5th of October 2013. This event featured in the Gathering Festival 2013. It was a remarkable success as was evident from the numbers attending (over 200) age profile and gender balance of the participants. Despite our best endeavours, we were victims of our own success and only succeeded in completing half of the intended route.
Outings/Field Trips in recent months. Needless to say this is work in progress and we will soon be preparing our Autumn/Winter Programme.
Since that event, the Society has enjoyed many and varied events which are widely spoken about throughout the local and wider Community. We had a lovely series of Lectures in the Parish Centre during the Winter of 2013 and the Spring of 2014. We also had some very enjoyable
Let's hope the October sunshine of last year will return but more importantly that your good selves will return in even greater numbers so that we can all travel together in mind and body "Down Memory Lane"
In the meantime there is the matter of preparing for "Down Memory Lane" Part 2 which again will form part of this year's Festival Programme. We hope to use the same format as last year with a mix of local Speakers and a few non locals. It is proposed to complete The Square, Upper Street to Illeigh Road and finish in Pallas Street.

Templemore At the White Gypsy Brewery, we make good beer. Our long term aim is to make that good beer from malt and hops grown locally and to sell as much of that beer, within 40 miles of the brewery door. We believe that for any community to be a stable environment in which people can live, work and have the prospect of a future, there needs to some degree of sustainability. And what could be more sustainable than the food we eat or the beer we drink. The more we produce that’s closer to home, the closer the money stays to home. People’s lives improve and the sense of well-being increases leading to strong, vibrant communities. It’s about taking control of our future one small step at a time. So when you drink our beer, we thank you; not only for supporting us but also our aims to create a local beer industry, which is both sustainable, proud and Irish. Slainte
