Great resource for biking the Pisgah Area!By R. LoweThis book along with the NG Trails Illustrated 780 map make biking/navigating around this area pretty easy! Some of the trails are hard to find and with GPS distance issues I missed a few trail turns but just got to see more of the stunning views and excellent riding. Good descriptions and maps. The area division gets a bit confusing, I wished sometimes trails were simply alphabetically listed instead.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Decent guideBy A.MullinsI got this book to help guide us on a week long trip to Northern Georgia. As with any guide book, the descriptions are the authors recommendations. I recommend using this book along with some internet research to plan your rides. Both have great information to maximize your trail experience. First published in 1992, Jim Parham's Off The Beaten Track mountain bike trail guides are still the guidebooks of choice when it comes to mountain biking in the Southeast. This 4th revised edition of OTBT Volume III: North Georgia lists classic riding destinations--Bull Mountain, the Aska Trails, Pigeon Mountain, Fort Mountain, Chicopee Woods, Jake Mountain--plus all the latest trail developments in the region, including the awesome Pinhote Trail.Detailed maps, concise route descriptions, and the user-friendly format that have made Parham's OTBT guides so popular are all here, along with photos, elevation profiles, and directions to each trailhead. Whether you're a beginning mountain biker or a seasoned expert, you'll find plenty of rides to choose from. So sensible, well-designed and clear they should be a model for guidebooks everywhere. --BIKE MagazineAbout the AuthorJim Parham is a North Carolina native whose Off The Beaten Track mountain bike guide series covers more than 2000 miles of the Southeast's best mountain bike trails.
