Save your wedding money...go to the libraryBy Kate HarrisonThis book was not worth the money I spent on it. I judged a book by it's cover on this one, (or rather by flipping through and seeing pretty pictures) and judged incorrectly. I found this book to be lacking in the content department. It tries to cover a lot of topics, but in that respect, it only covers each topic for a few paragraphs, not going in to depth really on anything, and therefore not really being helpful for designing and planning a wedding. There were no helpful checklists or worksheets for planning, nor did it give the bride any idea about where to start planning! If you're looking
for one book to solve all of your wedding information and/or planning needs, this is not the book. I reccommend The Knot guides, and also any specific guide that will help you with the kind of wedding you're planning to have (Catholic, Jewish, Destination, Ethnic, whatever). ...4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. All the steps of planning the ideal weddingBy Midwest Book ReviewIn I'm Getting Married, Now What?!, Andrea Hospidor takes the reader through all the steps of planning the ideal wedding. The text is clear and beautifully enhanced with illustrations helping the reader to find the right wedding style for them; set a time line and create a budget, cope with caterers and photographers, buy just the right wedding dress, plan the ceremony that they want, have a perfect wedding day, book a memorable honeymoon, and much, much more. If you or someone you love has announced their engagement, then the next thing to do is to read Andrea Hospidor's I'm Getting Married, Now What?! Make the most of the time between today and the big day by dividing it into manageable components. As you plan, consider things your mother probably hasn't told you, like Jack and Jill parties and registering online. Fill in checklists to help you find your wedding style, whether traditional, ethnic, special theme, your own production (or eloping). Charts and tips help you establish costs and budgeting. Then come planning the ceremony, with common-sense etiquette on whom to invite, selecting the wedding party, and resolving family tensions. Where to honeymoon? Look over the great list of suggestions together. You really can manage the announcements, engagement parties, rehearsal dinner, and the reception. Finally: Plan a peaceful, lovely wedding day, hour by hour.
