short Introduction This portofolio aims at highlighting the progression of my abilities and technical knowledge during my academical development. Focusing on construction details and technical solutions, the following pages briefly show different projects of transformation and refurbishment works and my bachelor project which mainly focus on a sustainable and cheap solution for affordable accommodations within residential architecture. Besides my last education in constructing architecture, I had the opportunity to work within the international construction industry as minor architect and designer as I also have a diploma in construction management and design from an Italian academy. The education allowed me to work within the architectural and design industry for several years in Spain. In fact, in the last pages of this book, you can find some of the projects I have designed, managed and realised during my professional career in Barcelona. Throughout the last four years I had not only the chance to deepen my studies further, but I have also established my role as professional in Denmark and Scandinavia in general, always demonstrating high motivation and reliability, going above and beyond in all tasks and duties I have been assigned to. Particularly interested in renewable materials implementation and energy efficiency in public and private buildings, I am a reliable professional with good knowledge and experience in construction techniques, architecture and design, and excellent graphical abilities which allow me to be part of projects with different purposes and specifications.

Academic Work

01_new capsule tower / 2018 Tasks: Final project - realisation of a new timber residential building for students. Academy: KEA / Københavns Erhvervsakademi, Copenhagen, Denmark Architecture Technology and Construction Management Project location: Copenhagen (Denmark) Inspired by the Capsule Tower of Kisho Kurokawa, the project aims to develop sustainable and affordable housing, focusing on a precise modular and prefab construction system. The residence can welcome 24 students (8 for each floor) who are able to share main common areas like kitchen, living room, study room and washing/dry room on the ground floor, while private accommodations, named “capsules”, are located on the above floors. Each capsule welcomes one student at time. Composed by a wood composed modular system of 12 m2, the capsule provides a private space with toilette and a regular size bed for one person. Every single capsule is able to be plugged and unplugged to the concrete main tower which is the core of the structure and the main route in case of emergency. Having a modular system in a residential building, reduces costs of production and provides an easier maintainance work. All the capsules have same dimensions and are built by the same elements. The new capsule tower’s project faces the current problem of accomodations in Denmark’s biggest cities. Reducing materials costs and reducing time schedules during the building process, while implementing renewable materials and applying the advantages of a modular system, we ensure a reduction of the total cost, providing affordable rental prices to people with low incomes. Ground floor Common areas as study rooms, washing/drying rooms, kitchen, bike store, cafè and technical rooms are located on the ground floor. All the spaces for common activities are shared in order to reduce costs and create interaction between students. An apartment for physically challenged people is located by the study room and it welcomes only one person.

First, second, third floor The floors welcome the accommodations for students (also known as capsules). All accommodations (or capsules) can be unplugged if maintainance or adjustments are needed. The adjustments can be done in the company’s headquarter. Once the capsule is repaired (or need to be changed), the capsule can be installed again. This modular system avoids onsite works and allow instead to end the task in a safer indoor environment while reducing costs in work-force.

The project aims to transform and refurbish the old Carlsberg’s warehouse into the new Hotel Ottilia, in Carlsberg Byen, Copenhagen. Working on this project gave me the chance to improve my abilities within the Danish professional world and expand my knowledge in the traditional Danish construction techniques. As contructing architect and due to my experience in detailed drawings and knowledge about materials, I have been assigned to the more technical part of the process, supporting the team in materials’ selection, technical solutions as much as new design solutions implementation . In the following pages some drawings are highlighted, reflecting tasks and duties I have been involved to and technical solutions I have been implemented during the period. Due to the complexity and the size of the project, only certain few are desplayed. However, the drawings and pictures provide a good overview of the project and the general amount of work behind it. 03_vandcenter syd, Odense / 2016 Tasks: Concept idea, developed design and technical drawings for the renovation of the new offices of Vandcenter Syd (Odense, DK) Academy: KEA / Københavns Erhvervsakademi, Copenhagen, Denmark Architecture Technology and Construction Management Project location: Odense (Denmark)

The aim of the project is renovating and re-shaping the interior spaces in order to create a better connection between offices and open areas, improving the current work flow and facility design organisation. Ensuring this, we also improve social interaction between employees, originating a cleaner architecture that welcome natural light while embracing a new work-force collaboration. To reach these goals, we centralized the main offices in an open working space, while meeting and conference rooms are located strategically around, ensuring an easier access from the groundfloor and better connection to the other parts of the building. An extension made in gluelam (GLT) and glass provide more space for extra employees and allow the implementation of a winter garden which improve the indoor climate while creating a relaxed atmosphere. Environmental studies Study of the environment and indoor climate. The studies and the implementation of performant materials and modern construction techniques, improve the energy efficiency in the building and reduce the costs in bills, while increasing the values within sustainability and functionality.

04_AERODROMe, Vaerløse / 2016 Tasks:

Concept idea, developed design and technical drawings for the renovation and transformation of the aerodrome into the military museum of Værløse, Denmark Academy: KEA / Københavns Erhvervsakademi, Copenhagen, Denmark Architecture Technology and Construction Management Project location: Værløse (Denmark)

The project aims to transform Værløse’s aerodrome into a new military museum. Without interfering with the general aspect of the building and main structure, we have redesigned the interior spaces and updgraded the building implementing new windows fixtures, new fire safety analysis, new ventilation and heating system, and changed the exterior aspect implementing courtin walls which improve the indoor climate in terms of thermal insulation. The future interior design provide a new flow for visitors who will be able to see the army’s exposition from a higher point. In order to satisfy the visitors with a higher view, we have installed a red bridge in the main area and which symbolically divides two generations of technology of the historical Danish army. The construction technique permits to have a “floating” structure, avoiding pillars or vertical support from the ground, allowing the vistors to freely walk under the bridge without movement’s restrictions.

05_clever house, orihuela / 2015 Tasks: Concept idea, developed design and technical drawings for the construction of a sustainable villa in Orihuela (Alicante, Spain). Academy: KEA / Københavns Erhvervsakademi, Copenhagen, Denmark Architecture Technology and Construction Management Project location: Orihuela, Alicante (Spain) Following the principles of sustainability and signing for a green approach, we aim to develop and create a semi self-efficient building, where water recycle system and performant thermal insulation are few of the main features of this project. Thanks to the collaboration with local companies and the implementation of materials from the surrounding area, we have implemented technology to reduce costs in bills and improve the energy efficiency of the villa while maintaining the traditional construction techniques. [ Clever House has been awarded at the 9th Healthy Housing Awards in 2015 with an honorable mention and titled as best project among Scandinavian universities ]

Studies for the villa’s development Concept design Considering the day light and sun paths, we create a house made of cubic shapes, extensions and white clean surfaces to help radiation reflection. We focus on a minimalistic and monolitic design, respecting the surrounding environment without compromising the mediterranean local landscape. The area is surrounded by nature, that can be enjoyed thanks to the many views provided. The interaction with the surrounding becomes part of the daily life: nature and architecture are connected. Using also the natural elements as an advantage, we develop a house with the maximum energy efficiency. Sustainability factors The house may be considered as a model of sustainability and healthy architecture. We mostly focus on energy consumption, using innovative techniques of water recycling systems and performant renewable materials for the best result and quality. The design of the house merges into the surroundings, without compromising the landscape appearence and establishing a connection between nature and architecture. The landscape and the environment are important as much as the architectural design. We create an unique and harmonious atmosphere, highlighted by the multiple views and functional spaces. Concept idea, developed design, technical drawings, surveying operations, project management. Arboretum / Botanicum Spain

Renovation and transformation of private and public spaces as terraces, gardens and urban plazas, including furniture implementation. Urban and landscape design works, temporary installations as public events and expositions between the period of 2007-2011. The following pictures are a selection of three works where I have been in charged of the design and complete management at Arboretum, an architectural studio located in Barcelona, Spain. The works are mainly customised projects, where the collaboration with other professionals is essential to fulfill the clients’ requirements and desires. Implementing different skills and knowledge, I tried to create unique environments where design and functionality are combined to give the best result.
