Guards trained to assist tourists Stellenbosch is a popular tourism destination for both international and domestic business people and holiday makers. The Stellenbosch Municipality recently provided training to night car guards to equip them with the basic skills to assist tourists in navigating their way around town. The key focus areas that were addressed include: V How do I identify a tourist? V How do I address a tourist? V How do I read a map? V Do I know the tourist attractions within the Stellenbosch area? V Do I know the Stellenbosch area I work in? V How do I give effective directions to tourist? V How do I read the tourist information booklet? Petrol attendants at the following stations will also receive training from municipal officials: BP Garage in Merriman Avenue, BP in Dorp Street, the petrol station in Klapmuts, the petrol station in Jamestown and the petrol station in Franschhoek, and parking marshals that are currently working under the new parking management.

Athletes with transplants from all over South Africa will gather in Stellenbosch and Cape Town and will get the chance to visit and travel the region. The Transplant Games Association of South Africa (TGASA) was established in April 1994 by a small group of organ-transplantees, who felt the need for an organisation that would promote an active lifestyle and an involvement in various sporting activities to transplant recipients. “Our vision as a purpose-driven sports organisation, is to be a leader in optimising the quality of life of organ transplant recipients, and through sports and other physical activities, promote organ donation and transplantation,” says Hermann Steyn, vice-chairman of the Western Province transplant sports association and a member of the organising committee. “These goals have been pursued ever since and a South African team has been to every

Ongelukkig leer baie entrepreneurs hierdie lesse eers wanneer hulle geld verloor. Daar is ’n Engelse spreekwoord wat lui “The devil is in the detail.”

betrokke is.
